The body is not a prison

"God is a Spirit: and they must worship him in spirit and truth."(John 4:24)
We are all spirits too,
A spirit with a body,
you know like a hand (spirit) with a glove (body).
When Christ was ressurected he had a body,
and Christ demonstrated it the Apostles, by eating and having them touch him.
Are you calling Christ and God a deciever?
Gaining a body is part of becoming perfect like our father in heaven.
When you study the scriptures you realize how much was lost or changed in the many many translations,
you also realize how much is taken out context by those attempting prove a false notion.
I also think Orson Pratt, who was a brother to Parley Pratt, was as well, missing a few noodles in his whacked out mind when he wrote a book called: THE SEER. Total insanity!
"Gaining a body is part of becoming perfect like our father in heaven."
Please show where in the scriptures this idea is taught.
For some ground rules, lets agree that Christ is perfect and is one with the Father.
Christ was resurrected with a body and 1 Cor 15:20-22 tells us that we will be resurrected also.
In John 17 Christ prays that those who believe in Him will become one with Himself and the Father.
In Matt 5:48 Christ commands us to be perfect even as our Father in Heaven is perfect.
to sum it all up:
We are commanded to be perfect like the Father.
Christ has prayed that we be one with them.
We will be resurrected.
Christ has a body and never shown in any scripture he gave up that body.
Does it stand to reason we need that body to be perfect as commanded by Jesus? At the very least, God wants us, for some reason, to have these bodies through resurrection. By study of the scriptures, it becomes clear that a body is a big part of that reason.
You provided NO scripture to support the assertion "Gaining a body is part of becoming perfect like our father in heaven." There is NOTHING scriptural or doctrinal about your statement. You are teaching false doctrine.
"We are commanded to be perfect like the Father."
Presumably, you are referring to Matt 5:48 where Jesus says, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
The word translated "perfect" simply means "whole, complete, and mature" and invokes agrigultural allusions such as "ripe" in conveying idioms that refer to cognitive and moral development.
It does NOT mean "flawless", "without blemish", or any other neoplatonic nonsense.
Moreover, you misinterpret "even as" to mean "like" in order to argue that we are commanded to be "like" the Father.
Jesus does NOT say we are to be "like" Father in heaven.
He says we are to be mature and fully ripe in our moral sensibilities and rational capacities, in the same way that God is considered to be mature and fully ripe in those dimensions of character.
There is no way anyone with half a brain can possibly extrapolate the meaning of Matt 5:48 to mean that we are supposed to have a "body" "like" the Father has a body!
Your ignorance and naivete is incredible!
Christ did not consider himself perfect until AFTER he was ressurected with a perfect body,
which he CLEARLY demonstrated to his Apostles.
TO use YOUR words, he was NOT WHOLE, NOT COMPLETE, NOT MATURED, until he was ressurected with a PERFECT BODY,
And Christ was not PERFECT until he was LIKE our Father in Heaven.
