Ballpark has seen plenty of action in its 16 years

I prefer Dirks Field and the Trappers. That was real baseball. This is somewhat entertainment. The veiw, of course, was the same then as now. The Trappers players were gritty and tough. These guys are pampered.

Nice article about a good guy. I agree with Steve Klauke that we are blessed to have such nice ball park with such talented players.

While the article is about the ballpark, Steve Klauke has always been a class act. He has been a great ambassador for baseball in SLC and I would love to see him get a shot at a major league job. He is the best.

The ballpark as it is known now may have been there since 1994...BUT the real thing, Derk's field had been hosting baseball games there since 1946! How easy people forget the complete history of a site! That is very very sad!!!!! An ok article noting more recent history, i guess!

Why would you say they are pampered? Some of them don't even make $1500 a month. You probably like the Trappers because they gave away so many free tickets.

I agree with Mike Butler - Klauke is one of the best in the game and a really nice guy. Unfortunately, in terms of MLB gigs, the legends are getting replaced by young guys with former players as color who are willing to work for comparatively nothing. To relocate a talent like Klauke this far along in his broadcasting career will not likely happen - although he absolutely deserves it. The best part of SL Bees baseball broadcasts is you have a legitimate MLB-quality PBP voice who has found a strong and supportive fan base - appreciate it because there are many minor-league cities that would give their left arm for his talent and personality. Too bad too many MLB teams are short-sighted.
