Jackson's parents say they have authority

this will help put closure on a sad time!

Even in death, Joe Jackson is controlling his son's affairs.

It seems to me that MJ had some children and marriages that should have precedence on the estate of Michael. At least there should be some documentation or will designating beneficiaries.

This man Joe must be on egomania trip again. I don't think his wishes will be upheld in any court. Wives and children are always the first beneficiaries of an estate, will or no will.

Joe and Katherine Jackson can make any claim they want...but so far as news reports have stated...they haven't been allowed to view the will.

So they cannot, with any kind of authority...claim absolute authority over their son's affairs, his estate, or who will gain custody of the children.

Every time I see Joe Jackson's picture, or read about him making some kind of public statement regarding anything to do with Michael Jackson...I just want to puke.

To think of a man who brutalized his own children so deeply, wanting custody of his grandchildren, and specifically the children of the child he tended to single out for such monstrous treatment...I cannot fathom that any judge would grant his request.

But it remains to be seen what Michael has requested in his will.

Assuming MJ was legally competent when he made his will (and I don't doubt that he was), his choice of guardian would normally control. However, the mother of his children legally has priority to be their guardian, assuming she is fit, etc.. MJ's will might also include trust provisions, naming a trustee to manage his assets, and indicating how his funds are to be disbursed (i.e., to his children, others, etc.). I seriously doubt that Joe Jackson was named as trustee or executor (personal representative) of MJ's will unless MJ was extremely forgiving.
