with Michael Jackson in his earlier years, and certainly not in his later years. It's amazing to me what good media coverage can build.

As to his personal life, it was full of so much self-imposed tragedy and pain--and always the questions about his actions.
In a world so full of serious wrongs and terrible pain, why are we so upset at the death of one self-destructive person? Maybe we ought to spend a bit more time and effort building the lives of the truly innocent and poor among us, instead of crying over a man who could have had anything life can possibly offer and chose instead self-indulgence and self destruction his entire life.

Just because you have money & fame doesn't mean you "could have had anything life can possibly offer"

The reality is that Jackson was in financial turmoil, was taking copius amounts of medication, his body was frail, and he was about to embark on a huge tour at the age of 50...no wonder his heart could not take the pressure. I feel pity for his children!
