Until you get all the other countries on board, this doesn't make sense in the least. Pushing Americans to go greener and greener, while the rest of the world takes a hiatus from it, doesn't solve the climate issue. This is a G20 debate. Get it out there, and make it work, if that is what you want. Otherwise, this is just alot of hot air, going nowhere.

The DemonRats smell a whole lotta TAX Money coming their way! If any Republican votes for this load of poles, and it passes, the R-Party is finished. It will be clear, that the time has come for a new third party that will represent the Majority, and constitutional will of the people. Obama and his cronies, are determined to destroy this nation.

Every country is doing things to go green, with Europe being the most advanced and the most successful.

Global Warming a Hoax | 1:56 p.m. June 25, 2009
This president states that there is misinformation out there. He should know; he is the one disseminating it.

Scientists are getting off this bandwagon in record numbers. Look at both sides of the issue. I have concluded based on a lot of reading that human causation of global warming is a hoax, based on computer projections, fear mongering, but not science. Man does contribute a small measure of CO2 into the atmosphere, but CO2 does not cause global warming. Rather, when global warming occurs naturally (it is directly related to the activity of the sun), CO2 levels rise. In other words, naturally occurring global warming precedes, not follows, rising CO2 levels. By the way, C02 is only 1.3 percent of all greenhouse gases anyway.

Please study this. Get divergent views and then make up your own mind. Don't just mindlessly follow along as Obama would have us do. If you conclude, as I have, that man made global warming is not supported by good science, then stand up and fight against it. Global warming legislation will merely curtail our freedoms and increase the power of government without having the slightest measurable effect on the global climate.
Global warming is real n true | 3:03 p.m. June 25, 2009
All what I am going to say about this, is what Ted Kennedy would say, "I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade. And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party."
Green Alright | 3:10 p.m. June 25, 2009
The green they care about are tax dollars that will be generated. If they cared about green energy, it would not be next to impossible to get a nuclear power plant approved and running.

I love the part about the job creation. I think we are still waiting for all the jobs from the porkulous bill. Taxes and deficit spending do not create jobs. It simply reallocates them so the people who get the government created job know who to thank.

The reason Democrat's are pressing hard is because they are all over weight from sitten on their fat do nothing butts. They say, I get that Speedo on, it looks like a rubber band stretched over a head of cauliflower. Have you ever seen a healthy-looking vegetarian?. If you believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade. And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party. No matter what Rush said, about global warming, fow it's caused by cow burps and termites, he says this for a chuckle only, it's real, it's out there, it's melting the polar caps, it has a effect on our weather, with worst storms etc., the only global warming Rush see's in on the seat of his chair, while sitting there 3 hours a day lieing to you all smoking his cigars. Thinking green is more then just a color in our mind, wake up and smell the coffee here, global warming is real. Your griped is "how do we pay for it to get rid of it when it's my money doing so?." RIGHT?.
rep Bro Chuck | 4:07 p.m. June 25, 2009
Did you read the comment "Global warming a hoax" That person actually gave you and me scientific figures. All you gave us is some bad grammar and a lot of emotiional horse manure. You sound a little like Al Gore. I think this Bill is a massive mistakes. Bottom line: This bill isn't about saving the environment, its about our government leaders looping another flaxen cord around our liberties and freedoms. I don't think we should be careless about he environment, we should find a balance and take care of our planet. I just think forcing everyone to contribute to a supposed answer to the problem is immoral and wrong.
Troy | 4:09 p.m. June 25, 2009
Well if Al Gore is making phone calls with is gold plated phone then this bill will surely pass. I wish this country would wake up and realize that these men and women in Washington are not looking out for our environment or for our money. They are so corrupted by the process that collectively they cannot make a decision to help anybody. All they can do is consolidate power, raise money for their campaigns (from suckers like you and me) and give beautiful speeches. They all need to voted out ASAP all of them
Cledus Snow | 4:24 p.m. June 25, 2009
So who pays for this - it all ends up in the laps of families. And those are the ones who can least afford it. We have seen nothing but more spending of our new President and no here comes the taxes to pay for it all. We need to throw out all of the congressmen that let this get a debate, let alone anyone who votes for this.

Regardless of party!
Aaron | 6:05 p.m. June 25, 2009
I hope and pray the Climate Bill does not pass.
Re: Troy | 6:08 p.m. June 25, 2009
you mean when AG makes calls on his gold plated phone, at 30K feet in his private "carbon neutral" Leer jet, flying to his (more energy wasting than three homes per year...in ONE month) CO2 emitting mansion says we need to pay out more to save the environment...he isn't being sincere?
Who else gets to buy carbon credits from his own business and then ask taxpayers to pay him for it???
Global warming = money making scam...
If people go to prison for ponzi schemes...they should go to prison for spewing stupidity in the name of global warming!

It is demonstrated here that people can and will be miserable for the sake of being miserable.

We live in a world were Germany, with a climate that makes Oregon seem arid, leads the world in Solar energy. The trains run on time in the land of Porsche ans Mercedes. Those darn socialist!

Energy companies pay people $10,000 a page to write articles attacking climate change. These companies hired the same people who once found experts for the tobacco industry that told us cigarettes don't cause cancer and attempts by government to stop smoking was evil big government. Remember Rush, as he smoked a cigar, railed against smokeless public venues?

I scientist writing peer reviewed articles earns maybe 80k a year. This is after getting a PhD. Remember global cooling? You no longer hear about global cooling because global cooling failed peer review.

Each time I research a conservative accusation against climate change it takes no longer than twenty minutes to disprove it. Like the Oregon list of scientist that included vets and names of people who never placed their name on it. There was a poll of earth scientist where 85% believed climate change is real.

Then, we have fair and balanced Faux News.

I thought he was working on taking our money through tarp, no health care, no cap and trade, no....
This guy is the ultimate magician! We never know what he will pull out of his hat next, but, we do know its going to cost our grandchildren dearly!
Cool Headed | 7:53 p.m. June 25, 2009
The climate bill is nothing of the sort -- carbon is a scapegoat. Point to a glacier that's been quietly melting for centuries -- then blame it on each other! Powerful frightening enough to get otherwise populist thinkers to buy into a classic, blue collar, middle-class tax hike. Tax the gas, tax the lights, tax the heat, tax the electricity it takes to grow food, make clothes, even power the microphone on Sunday morning. It's not the rich who'll pay this one, folks -- it's the poor working stiff who comes home at night and wants to watch a little TV. Farmers and ranchers get it even worse. Meanwhile, Wall Street traders straight from the trading floors of Enron get rich "trading" intangible "permission slips" that allow for internal combustion engines to remain in operation everywhere. They'll hoard allowances, create artificial shortages, and play their "fat boy" and "death star" games, then party like it was 2001 and the California energy crisis all over again.

The Laugh's on us. Thank you Democratic Party and your Single Party Control!
re: anonymous | 10:30 p.m. June 25, 2009
for every "peer reviewed" article supporting the farce of global warming, I'll show you one against it...you can't trust the big home burning, politician funding, radical environmental extremists paying $1000K per page for made up info on all of antarctica melting away (if you see Aussie news you would know that 3/4ths of the continent has never been thicker!!!) it goes both ways and A LOT more than big oil is set to make trillions off this fallacy

rich | 11:26 p.m. June 25, 2009
When Hannibal crossed the Alps with his army and elephants in tow the glaciers that now block those mountatin passes were so far in retreat that, he was able to get elephants up those mountains. Who caused the global warming back then? The the technology they blame it on today didn't exist. When Eric the Red left colonies on Greenland, the Greenland Ice sheet (cited by climate changer pronouncers as an indicator of our warming planet) had melted to the point that Greenland could sustain human colonization.

The only thing static about the weather is that it is dynamic--meaning it's always changing. The computer models used by the global warming crowd can't even accurately predict what has already happened. (They took known major weather events, fed all the data into their computer models, and came up with something completely different than what actually happened.)

Europe's attempt at going green has left Spain with an 18% unemployment rate, directly tied to "green" jobs. Most of the attempts at going green have actually failed miserably.
To rich | 11:59 p.m. June 25, 2009
Rich said: Most of the attempts at going green have actually failed miserably.

Go ahead and believe what you want to believe, even if it isnt true. To know-nothings, saying something off the top of their heads makes it so. Same deal with the radio demagogues, but thankfully most people arent buying it. Most people care about their childrens future.
Create jobs? | 12:22 a.m. June 26, 2009
Pelosi & Obama say it will create over a million new jobs??? While at the same time wiping out two to three times as many existing energy jobs. When will they actually get it. Raising taxes impairs economic growth, it doesn't stimulate it. Obama is a puppet.
O's Tax and Scam Program | 12:30 a.m. June 26, 2009
The great deceiver is at it again. This week Comrade Obamas one hand is inviting the fourth branch of his administration (i.e. the mainstream media) to place their undivided attention on his socialized medicine program, while the other hand is going to try to sneak his scam and tax climate bill and union card check bill through Congress.

Matheson already voted against Barrys scam and tax bill in committee, so make sure to contact him on Friday to remind him to vote against it again. If passed, it will become the most expensive tax increase in American history and affect everyone. It will also seriously stifle any type of economic recovery.

In an interview in 2008 with the San Francisco Chronicle, Senator Obama said that electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket under his plan to fight global warming. He also said that under his plan, if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; its just that it will bankrupt them.

By the way, someone might want to inform Barry that the earth is actually cooling.

Gore, an inconvenient hypocrite | 12:50 a.m. June 26, 2009
The former VP's 20-room home and pool house devoured nearly 221,000 kilowatt-hours in 2006, more than 20 times the national average of 10,656 kilowatt-hours.

In other words, his mansion consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses IN AN ENTIRE YEAR!!!

Personally, I don't have a problem with Al's $30,000 a year electrical bill, but I do have a problem with this fraud's hypocrisy.

Memo to Al, please refrain from stating that the sky is falling and telling everyone how to live their lives, particularly a majority of those who appear to have a substantially smaller "foot print" than you, until YOU can start following YOUR own rules.

Just the facts. Typical liberal hypocrisy.

Not too keen on more taxes right now. Would like to make ends meet before making ends perty. Who's putting ideology over what's best for the nation right now? I like the idea of clean air, and water, and recycling and energy independence, but there are things I can do on my own, without government mandate. So um... thanks, but no thanks.
