Out of control parents. That will never change until there is a administrator at the school who will get parents under control.

I have known the administrator at TVille for most of my life. He is a very fair and honest man. Before you start throwing around statements like this - Maybe you should know the facts. Get educated on the situation before you go after people who are doing a great job.

selecting a quality coach and expecting that coach to work countless hour's for what amounts to $1.50 an hour is a huge issue that I guess has driven many to find another job. If T-Ville had a teaching position to give to that quality coach, they may have already landed that coach - that's my guess.

Go get the coach from Hillcrest. Remember him? He's the one that came from New Mexico and pretty much guaranteed Hillcrest would work harder than any other team and be on top of 5A almost instantly. This would be awesome to see the T-Ville parents and this guy work it out together.

Jason Crawford would be an amazing candidate...Talk about the perfect makeover for T-Ville. Discipline, structure, reliability, respect and knowledge for the game did I mention DISCIPLINE! Perfect for a program that lacks these things!

It just shows that no one is throwing things at each other and ex-players, ex-parents have stepped up to help. They have a great program and it is really nice to see how hard the kids are working and the support they are getting from ex players. Thing about it, how many ex players would come back and give their time for FREE with only the pride fo T-ville baseball at stack. Thanks Jake, Ray, Judd, Chis, Curtis, Bennion...if I have missed one I am sorry but these are all ex-players from the best baseball program in the state...year after year they have produced with theri OWN players...go figure..

They should be playing on right now without their head baseball coach. According to high school rules the coaches are not allowed contact with them for so many weeks after the season ends. Quite frankly this story is one that in my view should have never been written unless they are going to write about how each school is playing on without their head coach this summer. Give me a break Aargon. Are you that short of storylines this summer?

The man for this job is Jason Crawford!!!
He is a young coach that Taylorsville could lock in for a very long time. He has worked with many major leaguers and high school kids. Jason, has demonstrated his passion for the game of baseball on every level not only as a coach but a player. Whoever snags Jason Crawford, is going to have a dominate and discipline program for many years to come.

I don't know if i would say you could lock crawford in for a long time he has been at five different schools in the past five years. Not a really good track record for Jason but all in all is a pretty good coach.. Any one heard of any others who are in for the job?

I totally agree Taylorsville will win a title in a hurry if Crawford is there coach. He would have the most discipline team and the best hitting team in the state if he was the coach.

The dead time for High School Coaches not to be able to Coach their teams doesn't start until August. Any High School Coach worth their weight is heavily involved with their summer programs.... Nice comment though.

The fact is there is a teaching postion available adn teh position is still open. So all you great coaches or if you know a teacher/coach that would like to step into a great position give the principle a call.

Shane Greenland turned down the Stansbury job. He is a special ed teacher and a fabulous coach. Would be a great fit. He might leave Hawaii for the T-Ville Job.

Who is Shane Greenland? Where in Hawaii is he? Anyone heard of who might be interested in the job. I can't imagine there are that many interested in the job after how they let coach MacKay go after a great run at the end.

Give the principal a call? That guy and his staff are sad to say the least.

I interviewed at T-Ville and he had his back to me the entire time and did not ask one question.

I especially liked part of his interview team dressed in sweat pants and a hoodie.

Now that's professional!!

Don't you know they already have someone in mind and interview outsiders in case of an audit and to meet their quota!!

They can't find certified teachers and coaches because education is a good old boys network...BIG TIME.

Getting into the coaching ranks is even worse.

I also interviewed at another local high school and the principal was so obese he could barely walk.

How can you effectively administrate a school in that type of poor health? Just hanging on drawing a six digit salary.

Teacher pay continues to drop and yet the work load increases and the treatment of teachers boarders on pathetic; go figure!!

If you’re not an educator you just don't get it!!

The fix is in!!

Now get back to your burger and fries while prepping for your next victim!!

Not sure who you are! but must not be very qualified to be a head coach! Ever been one before? There are head coaches who are not teachersm don't use that. I agree that some principals have no reason being in charge of schools. Keep trying maybe Granite needs a coach!!

Nobody wants this job.T-Ville administration just extended the search.5 years ago this was a very sought after job but not anymore.I know all the T-Ville parents thought they handed Guy the worlds most talented athletes year after year,but that is not the case.Guy did an excellent job with what he had and still got run out of there.Good luck T-Ville the good old days are long gone.

The good old days might be gone but at least we are top 5 in the state year after year. Can your program say the same? As for Guy the principal terminated him which came as a surprise to most of the parents. He had just made a great run at the end of the year so nobody though his job was on the line. But I will say that coaching is a lot more the X's and O's and that is where GUY failed. Hopefully the administration will get it right and hire a coach from outside of the program and not cave in to the demands of a few. We need a fresh start with a new coaching staff.

Seek and you will find a large number of unqualified coaches/teachers in a variety of sports and academia throughout the state and for that matter in many other professions. Take a look at our government.

It all boils down to hard work and who you know so a person can get that one opportunity to prove themselves... go figure. Consequently, the best person for the job both in the classroom and on the field are often over looked.

There are shortages in education for alot of reasons. One being people like you that think they can do it and simply do not have the degree(s) and blame others for their failures.

So they complain...you may want to change your name to ignorant!!

Obviously, a complaint from an outsider looking in..GET IT or better yet GET SOME...DUH!!!

It seems to me that we are forgetting about the reason we have baseball. It is for the KIDS; to teach team work, commitment, discipline, respect of self and others, and to possible get help with college tution. When coaches start respecting the kids (not calling them four letter words & building them up instead of knocking the down) that is when T-Ville will be great again. It all starts from the top. We need someone Like Rushton, Cramblitt or even a Troy Davis. I am looking for a hero to step up and stop the politics and take control of the team. I can not believe (if it is true) that parents of players are interviewing coaches. It is time for the administration to get control of these parents & coaches. What coach would want to come in & coach a player who's parent hired them? Administration, please CLEAN HOUSE. Step up to the plate and YOU find a coach that will give respect and demand the same kind of it. We need a coach that we want our kids to aspire to be like. One that requires hard work, discipline and most of all has INTEGRITY.

Know this education is never about the kids!!

School officials are just like politicians, they think they know it all when in reality they know nothing. Many of them do not understand sports at all and are intimidated by those who do!!

It's amazing what seems to be expected of these coaches who are making $2,500 a year.

"We are going to pay you $1.50 an hour. We expect a state championship every two years. We expect you to be involved in the Little League and Babe Ruth programs. Every move you make will be analyzed under a microscope. And if my son makes an error in the playoffs we will petition to have you fired."

It seems as though some of the people making coments are expecting Joe Torre to come interview for the job at T-ville. High school coaches are there because they love the game and the kids. If they were tremendous coaches and wanted to work year round, they would be getting college or professional jobs that pay better. Your expectations should be set with this in consideration. I guess if you are lucky enoght to get hired you beter remember which parents interviewed you so that you know how to keep the job. If your looking to hire somebody that will get to the bottom of all of your problems, hire a mirror. Itll tell you why youre not getting a scholorship also.

Sooner or later out comes 'it's for the kids' and it says it all, right? Let's not forget one reason a lot of kids are playing for - it's the parents! Not a bad thing, but the bottom line is that they're on a team, involved, and hopefully have good coaches and administrative support from the school. Good for the T-ville admin. in not handing out the job to a 'let's bring back' kind of guy who parents may like. Additional interviews and you'll see they'll find the right guy. And, what's wrong with a parent, player, staff member joining in on an interview for a coach? Just trying to get it right, huh?
Politics? Look yourself in the mirror. A strong HS coach, a supportive adminstration is in no way influenced by parents who sit, spreads rumors, and fret about playing time. Good fortune will follow hard work, attention to detail, and the coach will get it right. It's his job, let him do it. Some free parental advice: Don't try to be a coach's best buddy, and don't use CAPS in emails!

Again no one wants this job.If there were any big name coaches that would have applied it would be filled.Opening it up for a second round of interviews is not going to help.Once again the good old days are over for T-Ville baseball.

If crawford is named your guys coach, make sure you kids are ready to be cross country runners. I played for him once and we ran our butts off. He's a quiality coach and a guy that pushes kids to their limit

Taylorsville good old days. Those days are long gone with the parents that think they have a say in who should be the coach and who should be playing and the direction of the program. It reminds me of what Phil Jackson once said “Good teams become great ones when the members trust each other enough to surrender the "me" for the "we." Nice job T-Ville.

Just remember the one T-Ville let get away. “Passion for the game — commitment — leadership - quality individual — proven record and success. Troy Davis……”

You are right about letting one get away. I have known Troy Davis since he and his brother played little league and their father was one of the biggest sponsors of baseball around the valley. Troy has become one of the biggest supporters of baseball in the valley and state. Taylorsville has nobody to blame but themselves for what is going on over there.

I have heard that the Taylorville folks in the Babe Ruth and little league forced him out. What a shame for the boys that grew up wanting to play baseball for Taylorsville. Whether it is true, I do not know.

I do know that politics will play a part again for whoever they bring in.

You are right about letting Troy Davis get away.
Good luck Taylorsville in finding a coach that has the qualities and passion for the game like Troy Davis.
