All practices are done on their time at their own expence and their own place.
Each area has a club usually County area. Some county's have more than one
club. Rodeos are held from Tremonton to St George and east into the Uinta Basin.
All travel is at their own expence also. There ar usually 40 rodeos held each
year and these kids are great!!!! Yes to the last question they do ride the
bulls. Show up at Heber this week Wednesday Friday with the finals on Saturday.
You will be impressed. There is a morning and an evening rodeo Wed- Fri.

they are starting to participate in animal cruelty at an early age. What a
joke, this isn't the 1800s.

Go and watch. The 1800's brought up many good men and women who had a clue
about REAL life. These young kids know more lifes ups and downs and life lessons
than you will ever know. These kids will grow up and have REAL jobs and work
HARD their whole life . They will not be a leach on society like many who say
they are being cruel. You just dont live in real life your in fanancy land. Say
hello to Peter Pan for me!!!!

Bravo to students who take the Jordan High School Belief Statements to heart and
hold themselves up to excellence in athletics and academics. Coach Geertsen, a
teacher and coach who cares about student success, is a powerful role model for
all of us to expect the best from students and ourselves!

I am a participant in the State Rodeo Finals and rodeo is the greatest
opportunity I have in my life. I love my animals and my life literally is
centered around them and taking care of them. My barrel horse loves to do what
he does or he wouldn't be doing it well into his 20's. I have learned
great responsibility and it is a blast! I encourage everyone to come and check
it out!!!

I want to congratulate the young men and Coach Geertsen on what they have done
in the classroom. I have several of the basketball players in my class and they
are well behaved, respectful, and contribute to the class lessons and
discussions. The culture of our basketball program has completely changed in the
past couple of years, and Coach Geertsen has raised the standard for his
student/athletes. I know that the faculty of Jordan High School are all 100%
behind our coach and his high expectations of his student/athletes.

Absolutely wonderful to see this example and expectation from a coach and
teacher. I would like to see more of this from all of the coaches and teachers
at Jordan High. Winning is fun and important but there are so many life lessons
that can be taught through sports and it starts with excellent teachers and
coaches like Coach Geertsen. My most influential role models were my coaches at
Jordan High! Keep it up BEETDIGGERS :)

Congrats to you on your great season both on and off the floor. What a great
thing to see a coach that values the academic side of things as much as the
win/loss record. I would have a hard time believing that any other school in
Utah had any athletic program achieve a 3.6 GPA for the whole year. That is
extremely impressive! Keep up the great work Beetdiggers!!!

For every blogger that writes about a team's record or individual stats as
the basis for judging a coach's or a player's success, you should be
looking to the Jordan basketball coach for direction. I have no idea what
their record was on the court; however, Coach Geersten has it right. It is not
about the number of wins or state championships. It is about preparing the kids
for life. Coach Geersten is preparing them by setting the correct priorities.
Good luck to all the current and future beetdiggers.

Coach Gertsen is a very good guy! He strains us to keep our grades up and he
also exspects the best out on the court. He is awesome to be around... We have
been golfing and many other evens to help the community.
