Ride it in one day any day of the year and camp at the trail head without a permit any day of the year. That is the way to do it.

I rode White Rim twice in the early 90's on a fully rigid bike.
I would love to hit it again on my 5" travel bike, it would be much easier.

I've been on the White Rim twice-2006 & 2007. I've been clock-wise and counter-clock-wise. I prefer clock-wise. I guess you could do it in one day, but you'd miss a lot, including a beautiful slot canyon-I think it's west from the Wilhite trailhead or right near there. Great ride!

I rode the White Rim in 94. Permit was easy then. Don't do it in one day as you will miss so many great sights. Take time to swim in the Green River and to take in the other-worldly views. White Rim is the best Mt. Bike trip I have ever done--even though I almost got bitten by a rattlesnake...

Ride Without Support | 2:04 p.m. May 28, 2009
We did the White Rim Trail without a support vehicle with a three night stay back in the early 90's. It was an amazing experience. There's nothing quite like it. I still remember the thunder storm at White Crack that filled all the potholes. Muscle Man Arch and the Indian Tower Ruin near the end of the trail (clockwise) are also defnitely worth a visit.

Rode White Rim twice in the late '90s. Stayed out 3 nights including last night in Taylor Canyon. Great fun with friends, and plenty of time to explore and photograph the splendid scenery. We went in October and the weather was warm but not hot. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting a desert adventure.
