Faith that can shut down a rock concert

What is this nut talking about? He needs to learn about causation and correlation. People believe this crap?

Well, Anonymous. You obviously do not believe it. But, I could tell you a dozen more stories even better than that one.

Evangelicals believe after they've been saved doesn't matter. The same for what they did before because they've been saved.

So, yeah. People believe some strange things.

I assume that he isn't a fan of rock music.

I like rock. If it had been me, I would have stopped the conversation and enjoyed the music.

Faith can move mountains, so why not a rock concert. Unfortunately, the Jazz need more faith than all of us have collectively...and Obama, well his faith is without works.

God has told us that we just need to "experiment upon His word" and if we do so with even the littlest bit of faith, He will show us that He keeps His word!
I know for myself that that is true -- I, too, have seen miracles again and again.
Sometimes they seem so simple -- like a quiet prompting to check the rice cooker, and sure enough, I hadn't started it! Whew!
Or when we found fabric for a major project at a price we could afford.
Or when a our sewing machine broke down just as we were about to start that project -- miracle?
The miracle came as we exercised faith -- true, our sewing machine wasn't instantly fixed, but the idea came to call a certain neighbor who was happy to loan us her sewing machine -- and because that machine was newer, we were able to sew that project in at least half the time.
Miracles do happen -- we just need to watch for them, and remember to thank God for them!

Let's see faith shut down this.

I think we need to spend trillons more, and tax everyone working to death, and their kid's to. Socialized healthcare is a good thing.

Generation Y is a vehicle for pop culture, a culture that elected Barack Obama and that Republicans are out of touch with according to conservative leaders such as Rush Limbaugh and Andrew Breitbart.

Polls show that when it comes to issues Americans are conservative, but when it comes to admitting themselves to the brand Republicans have created through candidates and spokesman they are no longer willing to identify.

The increase in the number of people who are pro-life and anti-divorce is a reminder that America is center-right.

If this even happened, it is called courtesy and yes people outside of the church have it! This story is just nuts.

More unbelievable than the miracle was the quote about the spouses dying in the war in heaven. That is an odd doctrinal twist that I, as a lifelong church member have not heard. Anyone care to explain that?

Let me get this straight- God allows Child Abuse, murder, starvation, rape, and all sort of perverse activities to continue, but he does manage to stop a rock concert??

I guess I have different priorites than God.

Im glad god can be bothered to stop things like music that interrupts a meeting. Helps me have faith he will answer prayers the next time a plane is going to fly into a building or a tsunami is going to kill hundreds of thousands of people.

It was "only raining over the rock concert". Ha! I am sure that was reported by the newspapers and media there right? What a miraculous event.

Maybe they should have prayed that the temperature in the room miraculously drop so they could close the windows. They could then have their meeting without infringing on other's free agency.

Those of you who are making light of this fail to miss the most important aspect. Those who were in this meeting were worshipping and listening to the Good word of God. The Lord heard their prayers and just basically stopped the concert long enough for the meeting to proceed. Why is important, it was just important for those there.

The Lord is not going to stop a hurricane, an earthquake, a tsumami from happening. They are acts of nature. Yes, he could but then he would be infringing on the agency of all. Bad things happen to good people just as much as bad things happen to bad people. Those of you who fail to see this really don't know the nature of God. Do I know it all? Of course not, if I did I wouldn't be here but sitting next to him just like Enouch, Abraham and Moses are currently.

The Lord also allows us to make choices whether right or wrong. These choices have consequences that will either injure or even kill good people, innocent people. That is the choice we made when we choose the Lord's plan in the beginning.

God allows us to make choices. The great thing is that He steps in when it is really important. It would be unreasonable to expect a meeting full of Bishops and Stake Presidents to close the window for 3 hours. They might be uncomfortable.

This is no different that when God stepped in to make sure the Handcart companies could be nice and comfortable during their travels......oh wait....

This wasn't a meeting of Bishops and Stake Presidents. This was a meeting of single adults in Venezuala where air conditioning is not a priority as it is here. Elder Cook used this as a teaching tool and a miracle happened that probably increased the faith of those present. Is that wrong?

What about during WWI when American and German soliders shared a Christmas dinner together before renewing the conflict. Our choices are ours to make and whether we like the outcomes or not it is the consequences we have to deal with. No one said the trek across the plains was easy but many made the trek and survived. Many did not and are buried along the way. Just as Moses led the Israelites in Sinai for 40 years, many died but many survived the Lord still blessed them. The same is true for others. We generally reap what we sow, be it good or bad. We all make the bed we sleep in whether we know it or not.

He and several other general authorities had set up a three-hour meeting with bishops and stake presidents to discuss why Venezuela had yet to be blessed with a temple.

As the meeting began, loud rock music poured into the room through the open windows, drowning out the discussion. It was too hot to close the windows.



TO MY UNEDUCATED EYE IT DOES LOOK LIKE IT WAS A MEETING WITH BISHOPS AND STAKE PRESIDENTS.

This story reinforces my belief your faith is not true. FYI, educate yourselves on the Christian view of works, Perhaps you could call a Christian pastor. After all you would not ask a christion pastor to explain LDS doctrine so vice versa. If you have true faith you will do good works, but only the true faith has value. You can pretend to have faith and do the same good works and it gets you no where.

Is air conditioning more of a priority "here" than it is in Venezuela? Really?
I wasn't there, but if I was.. I would have the faith that when the windows were shut, no one would die of heat stroke. wouldn't that have been a better faith building story? We are not free of all discomfort in this world.
