Bennett actually fought in 2003 for stricter regulation of Fannie/Freddie including a requirement for them to rid themselves of high-risk toxic loans. Unfortunately the other Senators would not go along with it, thinking that the good times could role.
Bennett fought harder? | 9:05 a.m. May 14, 2009
Hardly.

. . . is a "who's who" list of financial institutions that directly benefited by his untiring advocacy for the ill-advised TARP legislation. Like the Y2K bug before it, the desperate need for TARP as trumpeted by Bennett was a dud. Oh, except that the taxpayers got stuck with the bill. Another six-year term for Bailout Bob? Thanks, but no thanks.

Bennett.... | 9:29 p.m. May 14, 2009
One the letters said that Bennett is the most respected Republican in the Senate....? Give me a break....must be a Bennett staffer hoping to keep his job. Bennett is a joke. The TARP fiasco did it for me. Please we need a conservative to run...even a conservative Democrat...I am also not a big Shurtleff fan....come on Utah..time to lead the way.
