Lets all pray for the people of ROME!

Ready to help is not the same as helping.

Why is the LDS Church being so unhelpful with this disaster?

Must we always bicker and criticize?! (sigh!) The Young Adults of the Rome Stake under the direction of the stake presidency is organizing a "helping hands" event on April 14th and 18th to gather food, clothes and other necessities for the earthquake victims. There has been a huge outreach from the local Italian stakes in coordinating relief efforts with the Italian Red Cross. (Not everything has to come from Salt Lake!) Within hours after the quake, the leadership in Salt Lake notified the Italian Area Authority (who was visiting for General Conference)that the Church is ready to assist where needed.
BTW In case someone out there wants to complain that next week is too late, the Rome stake leaders were immediately in contact with the L'Aquila members and ready/organized to assist, but all must be done in order under the proper civil authority.

Who all is helping? Is the LDS church not helping these people? What capacity do they have to help in a timely way? They will do all they can I am sure but to criticise them is insane. Ready to help is better than not being ready or willing to help. Organization and supplies take time to get ready and transported to the scene. What other church is doing this? especially from America.
Don't you love the trolls? | 5:53 p.m. April 10, 2009
You know, they throw out an unfounded question, trying to provoke and what happens? People will reply kindly with facts and faith, don't complain about these trolls, they actually draw positive attention by asking these questions. And we hope that you will have more uplifting questions that we can answer and WE LOVE YOU!!!
