Sad day | 2:00 p.m. April 9, 2009
Too bad the Angels bullpen had to blow his win opportunity last night.

This is so unfortunate. Once again we're reminded of the words, "Only the good die young."
one of the best | 3:38 p.m. April 9, 2009
I had the luck of watching him start for the bees last summer. Truly one of the best talents in a long time. It is sad that such a young man had to die over one persons horribly unfair decision to drink and drive. My thoughts go out to all 3 families

The fourth person in the car is in critical condition in the hospital and is undergoing surgery now. The survivor of the crash surely deserves our thougts and prayers.

What do you say about a tragedy like this. All our thoughts and prayers go out to the families who lost thier loved ones. As for this young man with such great talent. Sounds almost strange to say as a former baseball player and pitcher myself who came so close to making it to the majors. I am so glad that this wonderful young man spent his last day on earth fulfilling his greatest quest and dream. He made it to the majors and was able to pitch and perform wonderfully in front of thousands of fans who cheered him. Now I am sure he truly pitches for the Angels.

i am going to the Red Sox game tonight, it will be an hour to be there participate in moment of silence and to cheer for him afterwards. The accident i think appeared to be in a rather safe residential area in Fullerton by the photos. Can happen anywhere I guess. Grieve for the families. It stinks. This kid I have a feeling by his demeanor and baby face would have been a crowd favorite and had the makings of greatness. The tributes by Jason Giambi of the As and others throughout baseball were moving and glad at least he made the majors. Such a tragic death.

It sounds like you are blaming this pitcher.
Why can't he be on the road any time? He is a grown man?
All the blame should be on the guy who hit him.

i am a fan...yesterday i sat in on a conversation and some young man was ,putting age down as a detriment and i reminded him that tommorrow is promised to no one...i will remind him again today as he thinks his youth will save his foolish youthful ways and decisions...Nick is on a good journey, he made wise choices...bless his loved ones and love all of yours while you can...what a guy he remains to me!!
