Is no all star. Too weak. Will never make it in the NBA. Will be working in an area where he received his degree. Good Luck to them both!

He played his last game while losing against #12 seed Arizona.
But I hear he might be taking up a Ref. job, when he is not washing cars!!!!!

Nevill rocks | 12:19 p.m. April 1, 2009
You guys are idiots if you don't think Nevill will make the NBA. Ever heard of Jaron Collins, Kirily Fesenko or Costas Koufas? Nevill is twice the player of any of them and he's taller. Sure, he'll ride the pine and make a million/year for 4 minutes a game, but he'll be in the NBA.

This only goes to prove that post-season games and honors are NOT a beauty pageant!!! Luke and Lee are on the all-ugly American teams!

Cummard v Nevill | 3:43 p.m. April 1, 2009
Neither one will ever be an NBA Star, but I do understand why Ute fans hate Cummard.

He went 6-3 head to head. (2 of the loses were his Freshman year when they lost to the U twice). During his last 3 years, when he was playing more minutes, he went 5-1 and averaged 14 pts 5 boards 2 assists a block and 2 steals.

He will also likely be drafted, Nevill is a long shot, but may end up signing as a free agent. Lee being drafted has a much better shot to make a team. Just a fact. Sorry!!

Don't believe me... look at any mockdraft board and you will find Lee early to mid 2nd round and most do not have Nevill on the board, if they do it is at the bottom of the 2nd round.

Luke will be drafted in either the 1st or 2nd round and will have a long career in the NBA. How 7'2" guys are there in the draft this year?? You're crazy if you think he won't play in the NBA. On the same note, how many 6'7" guys are there??

You're also just as crazy to compare Cummard to Prince and Miller.... Lee is a good player but he is no where near that talent level. My bet is that he plays in Europe somewhere - he will still make money playing a game - there is nothing wrong with that.

Andre Miller | 4:19 p.m. April 1, 2009
Cummard has the potential of playing on the same level as Andre, after a few years of hard work and focus.
He has the athletic ability and just lacks experience and time.......

I'm a die hard Utes fan, both basketball and football! If any of us as Ute fans believe for a second that Luke Nevill is going to make it in the NBA, that's a joke in itself! He is way TOO SOFT, can't defend anyone laterally, and if it wasn't for that Trent Plaisted kid leaving early for the draft this past year, he would've made Nevill look like mince meat again. I'm sorry, Luke Nevill won't even be as good as Greg Ostertag! He is weak, but u cant teach size, so we will see how he fares!

BYU fan here; as much as I like Cummard and hope he finds a home in the NBA, I'm doubtful. Players at his size are a dime a dozen in college ball, but the difference is that most of them have more strength and athleticism. Nevill on the other hand is a different story, there isn't an abundance of 7'2 players around and in my opinion he was the ENTIRE Utah team this year, take him off that team and they win 10-12 games, if that. I'd be shocked if he didn't find a roster spot in the league, he's got the size and enough of the skill set required to stick around for a while.

When I think of Nevill, I think of Jim Eakins, who rotated at center for BYU but had a 10-year career (not even drafter until the 5th round) in the ABA and NBA (after the merger). He wasn't even a consistent starter in college, but he fit a niche in the pro game because he was big and strong. Greg Kite spent 12 years in the league. If Nevill can prove his toughness, I have no doubt he'll make it.

As much as I would like to see Cummard have a good NBA career, I more likely see him in Europe - not a bad gig if you perform well.

I have no problem with Cummard. In fact, I think he is one very good player. But, to compare Cummard to Andre Miller is like comparing a crop duster to the shuttle.

"Luke will be drafted in either the 1st or 2nd round and will have a long career in the NBA.

Are you serious? Do you even follow the draft? That may have been the most uninformed posting I have ever read.

First off, there are only 2 rounds in the NBA draft, so 'IF' he is drafter he will go in the first 2 rounds. LOL.

Second, Can you find ANY NBA draft 'Expert' or site that projects him even in the first half of the 2nd round? If so, please share.

Third, the game has changed. Centers over 7 ft are no longer necessary. Name the last player over 7 ft that dominated a game, besides SHAQ. Can you name any current players over 6' 11?

They don't have to dominate the game to hold a roster spot. GM's are still enamored by big guys, sure the game has changed but my guess is Nevill will find himself on an NBA roster for years to come.
