'Twilight' fans swarm store for DVD release

Come on...You weren't among the first to own the movie on DVD. They've been selling pirated copies of this thing in third world countries for months now.

I know a large number of WOMEN; I said WOMEN, not young adults or teenagers who just loved the story and the movie (including myself). This is not a story just for young readers althought it may have started out to be that. I think we all would like to have an "Edward" as a suitor. He is the type of guy girls(and women) dream of especially because he is sensitive,caring, protective, strong, handsome, and unafraid (besides having a lot of physical attraction to Bella). I loved the books, and the movie. I'm ready to see it for the third time.
Thank you Stephanie Myers for pleasing many age groups, and showing us what type of man might be the "perfect" man we women would love to have.

I have to laugh at the comment that the girl made about a boy respecting her like "Edward respected Bella."

Isn't having a boy in your bedroom, staring at you while you are sleeping, just a little bit creepy? Edward Cullen is a predator, pure and simple. Sure he exhibits patience, but he knows what he wants and he eventually gets it in the fourth book.

That movie is so gay...who'd of thought a movie made for 8-11 year ol girls would be SanFrancisco's limpwristed film of the year.

Contrary to the quote of the girl in the article, I was under the impression that Bella was actually not a good example for young women. I didn't read the book, but my wife has described to me what she was like. Wasn't she a bad influence on Edward? Didn't she try to get him to sleep with her before they were married? Plus, my wife says the movie was corny and not at all like the book. What stands out in her mind the most from the movie is the scene where Edward tells Bella he is a vampire. She says that was not at all like the book.

Thanks Wal-Mart for the poor planning. My sister and I were there for 2 hours before we were told that the autograph line was in a totally different spot than where we were. And parents, WATCH YOUR KIDS!!!! IF THEY ARE UNDER 15, YOU SHOULD BE WITH THEM!! Rudest bunch of kids I've been around.

Interesing... so many negative comments... I wonder how many of those are from men and boys who know that they don't "measure up" to a comparison with either Edward of Jacob in the Twilight series?? I'm a grandma who started reading the series because of my grandchildren and fell in love with the story. I realized that I had fallen in love with and married my Edward. I'm so glad that Stephenie Meyers has written this series and shown in it the value of Choices in our lives!! I went to the release party last night and took the granddaughter. Very crowded but it was fun having something in common with all the ladies (some of them WERE NOT chaperones - no matter what they may have said) and girls there!

Some of these bloggers are just like the crabs that pull the other crabs down in the basket. They can't stand to see anyone else happy or someone else be successful.

Good on Stephanie. She's done something great and she should be applauded.

Now, let's see all you crabs go out and try to do something of value. I dare you.

I'm a guy in high school and first of all i'm sensitive to girls and their feelings, i'm responsible for myself and for other people,I respect girls, and the whole other nine yards of it all.

And ya wanna know how girls treat me at my school, like a piece of turd. i know i'm a bit overweight and all. BUT still i play football i get good grades, i give girls my full attention yet nothing fazes them and they dont understand me.

Twilight is for girls that are so concerned about the popular "HOT" guys that they dont see who really respects them.

I read all 3 books, saw the movie, listened to the soundtrack, and all I can say is that Bella is not the "heroine" this world needs. She hangs on to an infatuation that she believes is love until it literally kills her. Essentially, that teaches young, impressionable girls to fanatically hope that if you're rejected in love, go ahead and pine away, missing out on lots the world has to offer. A better heroine would be one who might be rejected by a first love and learns that life really does go on and that new love can be found, perhaps even a better love.

It is creepy to think of someone staring at you all night long while you sleep. Most of us would probably be awakened by hysterical laughing at the tossing, turning, drooling, mumbling, snoring, and otherwise messiness of sleeping from the one looking at us. But then, maybe that's why Edward loved to look at Bella sleeping--she probably was a hoot to watch while she slept!

There's only so much marble, granite, and coldness a person can cuddle, even if he might be the perfect personality king.

To the young man in High School - don't give up!! Your Bella will come along and appreciate you and be your soul mate. The girls in High School are not very much like Bella - they are usually a lot more like the Lorens and Jessica's of the Twilight books! My Edward didn't find me until many years after high school. The real women of the world (not girls) appreciate a gentleman. Remember, Edward didn't find his Bella until he had been a vampire for over 90 years and he had lots of other choices. Don't Give Up!!

Of course the Movie is a little lame but when you're comparing it to the book what do you expect. they only have so much to work with and its so hard to create someones full imagination. be optimistic and try to allow a movie to be a movie an a book to be a book.

Find your own personal "Edward" or "Bella" but always remember its the personal character of the person not a fictional character. Let people be people.

This movie is one of the dumbest I have ever seen. First off you cant classify this as a vampire movie when they "Glitter" in the sun....that is so friggin gay!!! The chick Bella looks like she wants to jump Edward's bones throughout the entire movie.. I find it pitiful that they classify this as a vampire movie...its just another cheesy pathetic teenage love story that is just as pathetic as High school musical.

People, we're ignoring the real reason why "Twilight" is terrible. It destroys the entire vampire mythos. My sister told me the "good" vampires just drinnk animal blood for food. Um everyone knows that vampires can only survive on human blood. Bram Stoker clearly outlines in "Dracula" how the monster tried that a few times and it made him deathly ill. That's a pretty important motif for vampire stories that shouldn't be changed. What's the conflict if they can just drink animal blood? None remains.

I have to agree with "Having a Life." I've had my own Edward/Jacob for 8 years now. And yes, I say both, because both of those characters are worthy of being admired.

To the young man in highschool-- many people are jerks in school. Same as in later on. But one day, you'll fine your heroine. Just have faith in yourself, treat others well and it will happen. Edward had to be patient for over 90 years. He had the time to learn. Jacob has the time to learn too, and his growth potentional in the last book is set up to be awesome!

Bella can be considered a good role model because she has faults and strives to overcome them. isn't that what we all are doing?

I have read Bram Stoker's Dracula and found it to be one of the most boring books I have ever read. It moves incredibly slowly.

An I have watched twilight and found it a very thin story, no character development, and a very slow movie.

I actually finished the first book last night and didn't know until I saw this headline that it was out on DVD. I had no desire to read it as I am a 54 year old grandma. My daughter raved and my best friend raved, so I thought I'd give it a try. I actually enjoyed it. Meyer is a good storyteller. I appreciated the boundaries that were there for their physical relationship. It was obvious they had strong physical attraction for each other, but exhibited self control and respect for those boundaries and one another. While it may be death from a vampire motivated them, in this world it could be death from AIDS or a teenage pregnancy. I liked that it showed young couples can use their self control, despite powerful physical urges. I'm looking forward to starting on book 2 tonight. Personally, I think Edward in the book is hotter than the actor who portrayed him.

28/m here. And I must say the books were awesome. The movie, just ok. Hopefully the next ones will be better.
