Go Aggies. The best team in the state

That is so interesting about the Rankings. Thanks for the insights. Gotta love Dick Vitale...he is always standing up for the mid-majors and smaller schools. He absolutely knows about the bias, and how hard it is to get teams to schedule 1 and 1 with solid mid majors. I agree with Stew...keep up trying to get them on a neutral court or 1 and 1, otherwise, it is selling our team short.

I love the Aggies, and for what Stew Morrill has done for the program. However, I do believe he should do at least one game each year where you have to do a 2-and-1. It's not selling your program down the river if you only do it infrequently, besides it would help their RPI, and getting them tougher for the post season. The Aggie football team is expected to play the big boys at least once a year, why not basketball?

Not having followed the Ag's in a number of years since leaving Utah - I find myself in the interesting position of explaining USU to my Marquette Alum co-workers. They are genuinely concerned about getting beat by the Aggies. I think that shows how aware they are of their teams weaknesses. I don't know how deep, tall, and athletic USU is - but if they are just a little deeper, taller and at least comparably athletic I think based on the "home town team's" fans here in Milwaukee that the Aggies are about to win a first round game. I will dig up an old Aggies hat to sport in Milwaukee on Friday and pretend for a moment that I'm not a Utah Ute first and foremost.

Best team in the state? Now that's delusional. Maybe, just maybe, best team in Cache Valley.

There is no doubt that either Utah State, or Utah are the best team in the state. The Aggies didn't have Quayle anywhere close to where he is now, got jobbed by the officials, and still should've beaten BYU by at least 10. You can guarantee that the Aggies have a very real shot of not only winning their first round game, but the could play themselves into the next weekend as well.
Now if my all-time favorite Aggie coach would just bit the bullet for the short term and schedule some 2 for 1's with top teams, couples that with a sweet sixteen this year and the Aggies could start recruiting some really top notch talent. Come on Coach Morrill, do it for us lifers who remember Dean Hunger and the duo lockdown of Keith's Hood and MCDonald as childhood hero's, and heard bedtime stories about Wayne Estes game the night of his fateful accident. We can take the next step, let's do this thing!!!

It's great to be able to win 30 games in a season. However the tourny games are what really counts. and playing the bigger schools at all would only help us. the experience of playing tougher apponants will only make you better. Stew is a great coach but it's time to start taking chances. i don't think anyone would be upset getting beat buy UNC or any other big name school, but if you win 1 or 2 of those games would be huge. It'll only make us better. We all know we can win against the smaller teams, lets see what we can do with the big boys. keep up the good work we all love you guys. good luck danceing.
