thinking this will be an easy win. We need to come out and play tough because this is a good TCU team. A win against TCU counts just as much as a win against UNLV, so let's take it one game at a time and come out prepared every game.

The UNLV win was a big win for TCU but it must be noted that UNLV was missing their starting point guard most of the game and it was wink adams first game back from an injury that had sidelinded him for a couple games. UNLV is hurting right now so now is the time to beat them because by the end of the season they will peak and be much healthier. As of right now BYU has the inside track for another conference title.
Re: Kurt | 10:59 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Every team already knows UNLV will win the conference tournament. That's a given, considering it's on their home floor. The rest are just playing for an at-large bid, and winning the regular season title is a must to get one.

Its about time this league spread the conference T around. It being held every year at UNLV is a joke. Come on folks get real here and give other teams a chance.
byu | 12:58 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
where is the conference to be held at?
Re: BYU | 3:11 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Denver, Reno, Boise, Phoenix, Tucson, even Salt Lake City would make more sense.

with JT averaging 81 points a game, cummard over 17 points a game,

how did they ever lose?
UNLV and the T&M | 5:40 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
First of all: I am a little tired of the complainers about the Thomas and Mack Center being the location of the Conference Tourney.

Firsst of all, they do NOT get a larger share of tickets than any other school. Utah, BYU, SDSU all should be able to bring 10,000 fans to the Tourney if the fans were committed. The problem with you complainers is that most of you are the ones that sit home and don't show up for the games. Then you complain that it is a 'home court' for UNLV. The rim is no different. The floor is no different, but the UNLV fans stand outside the T&M and buy up CSU's WYO's SDSU's Utah's AFA's fans tickets as they walk out of the building having just watched their team lose. Don't complain to the conference because you are a fair weather fan and won't make a simple drive or take an easy flight into McCarren. Buck up and pay the price to support your team. Guess what? What do you think will happen when BYU and the other schools, other than UNLV, have 12,000 fans and UNLV has only 5,000??? No more home court.

Please make a reasonable statement about UNLV and home court. There is a reason teams win at home and it has less to do with the crowd than comfort with the shooting lines. Now as far as the fans go, each team gets an allotment of tickets but Vegas (not the school) also gets an allotment and which team do you think those fans root for.) As far as buying up tickets, how many UNLV fans would be lined up to buy tickets if the game was in another city. About zero. How would you feel if the tournament was held in Provo each year and BYU won every year. You would hear Rebel fans screaming. Then we could tell you not to complain and take an easy drive or flight to get your tickets. Oh, UNLV fans might not be that committed. LOL

Now I think it should be in Vegas but why not move it to the Olean floor? If not, then lets just rotate the tournament around.

Home court sure didn't help Louisville much against the Rebels, I would assume when the stakes are high, ie the tourney, the Rebels would come in and beat the Y in the Marriot Center their fair share of the time. Fortunately we'll never have to worry about that, Provo's too small.
Home Court | 10:16 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Only BYU thinks that home court is so valuable. Thats why UNLV can go out and win on the road, ie: Louisville. Its more intimidating to play in Freedom Hall then the Marriot Center, without your star player to boot.

Let's even the playing floor a little bit. If we are going to play in Las Vegas then UNLV should have to stay in a motel, eat restaurant food, and have to sit around for three days away from their normal schedule. Maybe they should have to fly somwhere and back prior to playing to get their legs stiff. In addition they should give up the prime practice slots that they reserve for themselves and then I'm fine with it.

Here is another idea. Let's make the regular season worth something. What do you say that the winning team get's to host the tournament. Or maybe we don't have a tournament at all and let the winner take the automatic bid. Oh yea I forgot it is about money and a so called good time, not sport.

I think it would be great for our tems to enter the NCAA tournament rested and sharp rather than beat up from a brusing tournament the week before.

TCU's Kevin Langford is the key to the Horned Frogs' surprising success this season. The senior averages 13.2 points per game.
