Great game for Korver tonight. Miles and Brewer looked good as well. These three guys are really key to our succuss. We need 2 of 3 to play well every night to be sucessfull. Lately we've been lucky to have one play well.

Game ball goes to Hot Rod Hundley who called out his 3,000 game. It was nice to have them switch over to him on TV. I forgot how much better he is than Craig "working on a double-double" Bolerjack.
Congrats Dean | 12:38 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Finally Korver had a good game. I bet you were more happy than Kyle's mom. Too bad your enthusiasm was tempered by a solid game from C.J.
Dean | 12:39 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Why can't I find Korver on the All Star ballot?

Send CJ to the developemental league for the developemental league
Kevin One | 1:05 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
The Jazz and Kyle won. Chris lost. I'll sleep good tonight.
D League | 1:25 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
CJ is not eligible for the D League.
Only 1st and 2nd year guys can be assigned.
ljk | 5:47 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
I love seeing how the media covers Hornets and Chris Paul games. They win a game and Paul has banner headlines all over ESPN, YahooSports, etc. on how great he/they are. However, they get trounced by the Jazz and there is virtually no mention of it other then how "the exhausted Hornets coming off of the Lakers game" got beat. Hahaha. I was also glad to see that with my $185 NBA League Pass investment on Direct TV that I was still able to watch the Jazz. What a relief. Oh yah, Millsap is a beast!!!
RR | 6:49 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
I wasn't impressed with the Hornets heart. Down 20 to start the 4th quarter and they pull their starters.
ljk, check the ESPN NBA page and this game is on the front, and the stories are saying how the injured Jazz team beat up the Hornets.
People need to give props to Okur. He had a huge game!
Okur | 8:26 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Okur is under-appreciated on this tea. People say he is slow and doesn't play D. I tend to disagree. He has shed some pounds this year, and for a guy that is 7'+, he moves pretty well. That dunk he had in the first quarter last night was pretty good for a guy his size. Think of Shaq or Yao or Oden moving that quick. It doesn't happen. And he spreads the defenses so well with his outside ability. I like his game and I think he honestly works hard out there.
nottyou | 8:30 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
I thought it was interesting that greedy KJAZZ ran a ticker during parts of the game encouraging DTV customers to call and complain about the game not being shown...hello, McFly, the DTV customers couldn't see the ticker as KJAZZ is blocked. Anyway, it is not worth switching to Comcast or DISH for just a few games. Hey KJAZZ: isn't getting marketing dollars enough for you to operate at a profit? If not, you should get out of the business. I hope your marketing dollars dry up and you go away.
Korver and Harpring | 8:39 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
really filled in well,Koufos 5 points/5 boards in 7 minutes, excellent!!!! too bad about Miles, but he really hasn`t been doing much anyway
Shat | 9:02 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
I agree that Memo is under appreciated. He carried us through hard times and has played injured on many occasions. He gives us everything we want to see from Boozer. I love his game and want him to remain a Jazz man for the rest of his career. The guy is humble and just a great team player, much like Millsap and company.
Boozer's Raise | 9:04 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
The Utah Jazz will not be giving Boozer a raise after this year. He said he is getting one and so it will have to be with another team. Millsap's stock is rising each day. We can't afford to keep Boozer, Millsap, and Okur. I have to admit Okur is amazing for the jazz. I would have never guess he had 20ish points yesterday. He silently does his thing.

Give Millsap a few post moves this summer and we have no need for Boozer. He can go rob another team. His defense if far better than Boozer's.
Miles | 9:38 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Don't look into this game too much. New Orleans was on the last game of a road trip and had just dominated the Lakers on their home court the night before. Paul way outplayed Deron last night so where are all the Paul fans today?
Sloan's All-Stars | 10:09 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
You can add Millsap to the growing list of All-Stars produced in the Sloan system. Boozer has no idea what he's getting himself into when he thinks he can take his sorry 2/3 game anywhere else and do as well. Oh, wait a minute, now I remember -- it's not about his game, it's about how much money he can make. Well, let's just hope Utah isn't stupid enough to reinvest in the injured malingerer after this season is over. Let him opt out and be gone.
Bolerjak | 10:45 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
How about "hangs on a pivot" Bolerjak. No one will ever come up with anything as sweet as "a gentle push, a mild arc and the cowhide globe hits home." Way to go Hot Rod -- you're the best!
BoOoO | 10:44 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
"Paul way outplayed Deron last night".

The only thing Paul did was take 11 more shots then D-will. It obviously didn't help his team at all. Maybe if he concentrated more on getting his teamates into the game, then just getting his stats, they wouldn't have got blown out. Most of his 7 assists were passing to David West(or someone else)and him creating a shot for himself. If Deron wanted to score, he easily did. Every time he did drive he easily got to the basket. But it was unnecessary because he was keeping his teamates involved.
WildWilly | 10:58 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
I have to agree with Sloan's All Stars. Let Boozer go. He'll find that the only reasons he prospered were DWill and Sloan's system. With anyone else he'll be just like he was in Cleveland; a sub.
Re: Miles | 11:11 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
You must have missed the part about Deron being really sick and Sloan and company thinking he wouldn't be able to go at all. He still had more assist and the head to head 9-2 is more impressive than stats.
Bonerjack | 11:17 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
How about "buckle freakin up"!!!

Booner ahhhh, ahhh, ahhh. Ya great duo.
Sloan's System? | 11:19 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Boozer will be an all star in any system. I'm not sure any of you know what a "system" is.
On Comcast | 11:24 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
So I get to watch the game on Comcast and I can see the KJZZ HD logo but it is not broadcast in HD. Could not find another channel they were using. So not much more advantage there than DTV.
re Hot Rod | 11:42 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
I personally like Bolerjak, other than how disingenuous he sounds when he gets excited. Hot Rod is and always has been a better radio announcer than TV. When I watch games on TV, I don't need someone telling me what happens every single play. However, when I'm listening on the radio, Hot Rod is great.
Keep Looking | 11:49 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Hey ON COMCAST -

"So I get to watch the game on Comcast and I can see the KJZZ HD logo but it is not broadcast in HD. Could not find another channel they were using. So not much more advantage there than DTV."

Try looking on channel 6!
Miles | 11:51 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
So he was sick like MJ was when he took us out in game 6 for the championship? Got it!!
Carl | 11:50 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Yes, I've heard Comcast has a KJZZ HD channel. Does anybody know what that is? I saw one game on Ch. 664 one day, but that channel has been gone now for several weeks.
jim | 11:59 a.m. Jan. 8, 2009
ummm...i love hot rod, too. but, the 'gentle push, a mild arc and the cowhide globe hits home' was stolen--like a lot of hot rod's stuff from chick hearn. he was hot rod's idol. the good thing about hot rod is his love of the game--& his good taste in stealing lines from the best.
somehow, his catch-phrases just aren't as annoying as they seem to be in the mouths of most others
Eric | 12:16 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Hot Rod is the best. He hears the best, takes the best and uses the best. "Slam Dunk" who started this one and you better never use it unless you give credit to who did. Years ago "Thompson fakes left walks right..they got him" Hot Rod stays on the ball. This is where we want to keep his voice.
Hot Rod | 12:39 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
How about "Hippity Hop down the left side" and "Pirouette move in the lane" and my favorite "Frozen Rope, you could of hung your wash on that one baby."
Gordan | 12:48 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Why do we always have to read that Boozer is an all star. For more than a third of his time here in Utah he has been on the bench nursing an injury. So I think the Jazz's Orthopedist would call him his all star player.
Bolersnatch | 12:53 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
How about Craig "circus shot" Bolerjak?

How about Craig "Boozer only needs 10 rebounds and 8 more points for a double double" Bolerjak
HOTrod | 1:04 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
How about "rainbow jumper from the parking lot"
Hollywood | 1:05 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Yes, Hot Rod admitted most of his catch phrases were taken from Chick Hearn. But, "you gotta luv it, baby" is a Hundley original.

Frozen ropes, leapin' leaners, hippity-hops - Hot Rod certainly made the game come alive in the days you had to catch most of them on the radio.
Carlos Who?ozer | 1:21 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
We do not need carlos!
Out-of-state woes | 1:35 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
"Utah saved the nail-biting stuff for must-see games everyone can watch on FSN." Not true if you live on the East Coast. It seems odd to me that as the number of sports-specific cable channels grows and grows across the nation, there seem to be fewer and fewer nationally televised Jazz games.
magnus | 1:43 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
does anybody else get the feeling that the Jazz team we have now is a little bit like the Jazz teams of the late 80's early 90's?

I just kind of feel like our good young players, the foundation of our team, (namely Millsap, Williams, Brewer, maybe even Kosta) are a little to young and inexperienced and we are about to lose the veteran guy (Boozer) who for several years has been considered our best player.

I hate the feeling, because it makes me feel like we are still a couple of years away from true title contention, but I just can't shake it.

I feel like if the Jazz could keep the team as it is now long enough for the young guys to mature that we would quickly become the most dominant team in the league.

But losing Boozer changes things...
page | 1:48 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
had to listen to it on the radio
RE: magnus | 2:23 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Your right and wrong.

IT like the 80's jazz, always promise, always potential, always needing a little more experience, always needing one more player, always winning enough to never get good draft pick that can actually help you,

always building around comlementary players and never a true superstar,

and never winning a championship.

Yep, history repeating itself.
King Black at Miles | 2:33 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
awwww what a 4th grader comment type move
So he was sick like MJ was blah blah blah... you basically just said my dad haves bigger muscles in a opposite way.... you gotta be kidding me

get the heck outta here with that.. ok ok well in that case
So the Hornets came off a Back to back game like everyone else does in the NBA but just got murdered instead... but not like everyone else in the NBA does lol hahahahahahah. and o ya still Jazz not at 100% rotation

What a joke dude..
Hate to agree... | 2:34 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
with magnus but without Boozer we are not as good of a team.

We are definitely a few years away.

We also can't afford Booze and Millsap and their is no question that Millsap is the one you keep
John | 3:00 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
And you HAVE to love Hot Rob mispronouncing everyone's name! Boller Rules!!
Direct TV | 3:32 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Quit complaining about not seeing the game on Direct TV. The game was available over the air in HD, anyone with a Digital TV could see the game.
TucsonUte | 3:43 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Every game Millsap puts up a double double makes losing Boozer even more of an afterthought.
Give it up KJAZZ | 3:50 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
I switched to DirecTV to get the Mountain. The Miller boys need to grow up. Why should DTV have to pay for what is essentially free TV. Most of the games are on FSN anyway, which forced people to cable or satelite. So yeah, running their little blurb is kind of useless since the people they are aiming it at don't get the feed.
Hot Rod memories | 3:51 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Ricky Green the fastest of them all hippity hops left with the belt high dribble, pirrouettes whiles he's hangin on a pivot. Leap n leaner, no harm no foul.

Mark Eaton from the foul line, Oh you coulda hung your wash on that one baby!

Golden Griff with the rainbow jumper. He shot that one from the Parking lot, section J.

Larry Bird with 26 points 9 rebounds 8 assists 4 steals and he even sold a bag of popcorn.

He drives, he hangs, he's fouled, IT'S GOOD!

The first ones good and he'll have another!

A gentle push, a mild arc, and the ol' cowhide globe hits home!
KWhitt | 3:50 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
CP3 is still a better individual player than Deron Williams. He outplayed dwill last night and is the best PG in the game right now. The only thing against Paul is his team stinks. Deron has better players around him, but Paul is a better player.
idaho jazzfan | 3:53 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
Did anyone else think Chris Paul was a PUNK for knocking AK's legs out from under him on the last shot of the half? What a total cheap shot!!!
Dr Kev, Kevin Jordan, Magic Kev | 4:03 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009

Anonymous | 4:09 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
No one has to listen to this game on the radio. KJZZ is free - all you need is some rabbit ears. It was a great game.
hey magnus..... | 4:29 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009
.....are you wearing Jimmy's Sneakers?

.....how did Mattie look to you last night?

.....this Jazz team will be a beast in 2-3 years. And Loozer will be long gone. KK is the real deal. I mean Koofus (not Korver-although the kid can shoot the 3). He is a top 5 four or five. Shoot drive dunk block shots plug middle. I LIKE HIM!
