The comments on this article show that the majority of both Ute fans and Cougar fans have a lot of class.

Great season Utah you deserve to be #1 and I am really looking forward to the rematch next November.

i am sick of all these utah fans thinking they deserve a shot at the title. they did go undefeated. but play floridas, oklahomas, or texas's schedueles and they will not be undefeated. even if utah is a good team, put usc florida or oklahoma in the mtn west and they would be bcs busters every year!! because you had one good showing against alambama, thats one game. you have to prove yourself worthy against acc and sec teams for a whole season. not one game where you have 3 weeks to prepare for one game.

Many folks from around the nation knock Utah because they come from a weak conference. They don't seem to know how well the MWC did this year. If my calculations are correct, the MWC went 6-2 against the PAC-10, 2-0 against the SEC, 1-0 against the Big-10, and 10-6 overall against all BCS conference schools. The 6-2 record against the PAC-10 is particularly impressive given the PAC-10 5-0 bowl record. The conference proved on the field that it's solid. The argument that Utah didn't play a tough schedule simply does not hold water. Utah's out of conference schedeule was pretty tough with Alabama, OSU, and Michigan at the big house. Much of the strength of Utah's schedule came from within the conference with wins over TCU, BYU, CSU, and AF. Even lowly Wyoming beat an SEC team this year. The MWC proved it deserves a seat at the table with the big boys by going 10-6 against BCS schools. The fact is, the conference will probably have to do it repeatedly before anyone outside the region will notice.

Then stop reading articles on the utes and go back to your zoobie or 'bama wood shed and wait until next year. They are as good as any other team out there. Also, Utah lost O-line and D-Line players during the year, guess what, they found a way to tough it out and play, not cry about how missing an o-line guy ruined the game. Give me a break.

You guys are just upset that Utah rubbed it in the nation's face by beating Alabama handily. There aren't any arguments against us, other than:

Utah doesn't deserve it, just because! This is Ute country now!

Please! You've obviously drunk too much of the BCS Cool-aid. The MWC is far more challenging than the ACC, Big East, PAC 10, or the Big 10. The MWC went 6-2 against the PAC-10, and 2-0 against the SEC. Utah has beaten more currently ranked teams than Florida or Alabama. Utah has beaten TCU, BYU, Oregon State, and Alabama. Oregon State would've won the PAC 10 if they hadn't lost their running back just before the Oregon game. The best conference this year was the Big 12, and then I'd say the MWC or SEC would come in second. Florida has beaten Georgia and Alabama, and lost to Mississippi. Alabama has beaten Georgia and Mississippi, and lost to Florida and Utah. The next best SEC team is Georgia, which lost to Georgia Tech, and just barely beat Auburn and USC. The next best SEC team is Mississippi who lost to Vandy, Wake and USC. The best team of the ACC is Virginia Tech who lost to East Carolina and Miami. Everybody laughed at the ACC and Big East this year. The MWC dominated the PAC 10. I also want to point out that Utah has lost to no one!

This was an awesome victory for Utah, the non-BCS teams, the MWC and everyone tired of this non-playoff garbage. Go and read Rick Riley's article on ESPN.com about how the Utes should be national champions and that the trophy they were awarded should be a National Champion trophy.

This game was as big or bigger than the 1984 Championship for BYU. I'm a Cougar fan and I realize that this Ute team is something special. BYU did what was required for their time to win it all and the Utes have now done theirs. Go MWC!!!
