Yes, some of the singers aren't here anymore, but there are still groups like Franki Valli, Paul Anka, Frankie Avalon and some others that are still performing. He could fill in with records or clips from his old Bandstand series.
After all, our group doesn't do much partying anymore, and we're too young for Lawrence Welk, and too old for these "so called singing groups".
Try it. You may be surprised at the ratings you'll get.
By the way, I'm old enough to remember his first wife Barbara.
Chuck Berry, amazingly, is also one of them, as his first hits were in the 50s before, during, and after the day rock and roll began (which is either on a day in March 1955 when Bill Haley's "Rock Around teh Clock" became a smash, or earlier depending on one's view, i.e. July 1954 when Elvis Presley knocked on Sam Phillips' studio door, or when Johnnie Ray imitated dance-hall shouters in 1951).
But Chuck Berry is STILL performing his hits!...and he is 82 years old! Austria, Brazil Croatia, Finland, Germany, France, Russia, Spain & The United Kingdom were some of the stops on Chuck Berry's 2008 concert schedule! We was born on October 18, 1926. I saw him live in Washington DC 3 years ago and he was amazing!
Dick Clark is in good company.
How can this be? Amaziing. I want them to never die.
