If the story is #1, maybe we should see a few more stories being published about it. Just a thought.....
Diss the Boise State Fans all you want but the BSU TEAM is a class organization and a worthy opponent.
Go Utah! Thump Alabama and stick one "right in the eye" of the BCS National Championship game.
Let fans go to their own message boards to show off their intelligence.
This sections stokes the fire of the rivalry more than it needs to be.
Go Utes.
GOOD LUCK IN THE SUGAR BOWL!!!
HOW SWEET IT IS!!!
MAKE US PROUD!!!

Your anonymous bashing of another team shows your total lack of class and self esteem. If you can not say anything nice about someone-perhaps it is better not to say anything at all.
Congratulations to all the athletic teams in Utah for excellent seasons and the collective glory you bring to the entire state of Utah.
May 2009 be even better for all of our teams-Jazz, Utes, Cougars, Aggies, Real, Wildcats, Blaze (if they survive), UVU, SUU, Dixie, Snow, et al.

Now it's time for Air Force and Utah to not get embarrassed. I don't expect AFA to have much trouble with Houston, but Utah could look like Hawaii did last year. Hope not.
Utah has the opportunity to do to Alabama (and the BCS) what Boise State did when they beat Oklahoma. I'm not as confident of this one as I was that one. It might look more like TCU's game--close and a nail-biter, which would be okay, win or lose. Just don't get blown out, Utes!
So far, except for BYU's flub, this bowl season has been fun to watch. In HD, no less! (Yea ESPN, boo the mtn.)
Utah will be exposed for the mediocre team that it is.
Bama got cheated this year, they deserved a test, and got an open note quiz.
As a loyal Cougar, I wish the Utes well in the Sugar Bowl. I'll be in New Orleans on the night of the game. We'll be staying just down the street in the French Quarter. We just might mosey on over there and cheer for the Utes.
Merry Christmas to all. Here's hoping that everyone can put these PETTY, CHILDISH rivalries aside and learn to love and respect each other.
Are your Christmas decorations black?
We aint scarred of 'nuttin'
But it woud been better to played them Momrans at BYU.
Merry Christmas and go easy bro.
Austin Collie's reception record is better than that.
Only a 10 or 11-year old would get such a kick out of bashing BYU. Just grow up kids.
As a Cougar fan, I too will be rooting for Utah against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
No matter how you slice it, we will bask in your reflected glory or share your collective sorrow.
All the best to Cougar and Ute fans in the new year!
Merry Christmas everyone!
I have been a hater here at times. Not today. I have enjoyed watching the Cougars play this year. BYU has reminded me of a lot of recent Utah teams. You know what? It is OK to be good and not great some years. I have loved watching Utah in the little bowl games as much as the BCS games. They still are my team, and I love them no matter what.
True blue cougar fans should fell the same way.
GO UTES! Beat Bama!
and the first post from a Utah fan?...
another lame post about BYU.
No matter what Utah does, some of their fans will always be looking over their shoulders to see how Utah compares to BYU.
Since you were wondering, this year's Utah team is on par with BYU's 1979 team, undefeated at the end of the regular season.
Once a little brother, ALWAYS a little brother!
Let the comebacks begin.
At least the blue boys got the Wii package from LV bowl --after they embarrasing the MWC conference with the loss.

At a time when Utah has been firing coaches for ineptitude and BYU has had to rebuild from some lean times under Cleveland, Stew is a model of consistency and brilliant coaching. His teams constantly over achieve, and he has only lost 1 game in Logan to BYU/Utah powerhouses during his 11 years at USU.
And finally, Jaycee Carroll's career at USU was nothing short of spectacular. He leaves as the all-time scoring leader. He passed Danny Ainge and Keith Van Horn's individual marks within the state of Utah. He was among the national leaders in scoring, FT%, 3-pt %, and was the WAC player of the year.
Deseret News, you really blew it by not even mentioning these two acheivements, which are school records not likely ever to be broken again. I can guarantee that if BYU or Utah had a player or coach come even close to these accomplishments, they would not have been left out.

BYU is doing a great job considering the handicaps that Utah doesn't have to deal with; Utah has a low, low entrance policy and doesn't have to worry about the Honor Code. BYU's record over the past three years is impressive considering the hoops a player has to jump through to be admitted.
Two successive undefeated, meaning they beat Utah, conference titles and a 10-3 record this year. Not bad in my book.
At least Utah has two winning programs.
If you're proud of (or content with) 10-3 season that included a LV bowl loss to lowly Arizona, then at least you're a practical BYU fan since this is the best BYU will be --around 10 wins and LV bowl a season.
I am always a Utah Fan --including Utah baskettball fan. I don't jump in only when they are doing great.
One last point, I hope that you're still wearing your "Quest of Perfection" t-shirt...

Utah might get blown out, or maybe they'll surprise the world. Who knows. But, they've now done twice in five your years what your team set as its goal this year; a goal your Cougars haven't come close to attaining.

Gee, I thought BYU's "quest for perfection" and their victory over Northern Iowa was the top story of 2008.
