Not good for the Cougs with this postponement. It now gives them a week and a half to dwell on their disappointment in Arizona. Beating a Western Oregon team at the Marriott Center would have helped get the Cougars back into a winning mode and help alleviate their ASU stresses from the lost.

After seeing a different angle which showed the ball out of the BYU player's hand before the clock hit zero, the Coug's got shafted. The refs counted the points officially and there was not enough evidence to overturn . . . but they did.

If any good comes out of this, the Cougs can learn that free throws are critical all game long and that they have to play the whole game to win against good teams. They now no longer have to wonder when their first loss was coming.

All college basketball schedules are soft, especially this time of year. Whose schedule isn't soft? The Utes? Played Southwest Baptist, and LOST? Wisc. Green Bay? Morgan State? A loss to Idaho St. (who BYU beat by 20)?
RE: MADRYBEG | 6:53 p.m. Dec. 23, 2008
They tried for months yo get good team from a good conference to do a home and home with them but couldn't get one.

no one wants to play byu at byu's home.

This is basically a last minute fill in, which, by the way doesn't count in the standings.
Re: Sick | 11:20 p.m. Dec. 23, 2008
Why must we talk about who the Utes played? While they have a much stronger program historically, they aren't the superior team in the previous years. Let's not worry about the comparisons...there isn't much of one right now.

I never mentioned a word about Utah's schedule. It stinks, too. I am not a college hoops fan AT ALL until March. RPI's count, though. Beef it up some...both schools. But, more especially BYU. They have a good team. Why not show the country? Don't hide and expect to beat good teams later when there has been no challenge. AZ St? Good team. They need more of that. No more sandbagging.

I am sick of hearing about the Utes. They couldn't beat the broncos in football, nor could they do it in basketball. If they can't beat Id State, in basketball either, why does anyone think they can touch Bama in football either. I think the Broncos should have got the BCS nod.
