Now if every other professional sport would follow suit, then maybe we can take a year off and get back to salaries and ticket prices that are not so outragious. I'd like to see the NBA, NFL and MLB all start over from scratch.

Hey Arena Football... | 11:27 a.m. Dec. 15, 2008
...maybe you could take some notes from MLS. They seem to be doing it right. Slow and Steady Growth. 15 years strong and counting.

I can not begin to describe how much I hate Arena Football. The only thing that is worse than watching it are the people who take joy in its demise. What narrow minded people. In such difficult ecconomic times, hoping a business goes under is akin to standing on the titanic and hoping the the captain hits an iceberg just because you don't like him. Right now we are all living on the same boat and what effects one of us will effect us all to some degree. Long live the Ugly Baby!

Good Riddance???? AFL will be missed. It is actually a sport you can afford to take your family to. Not many people around here get to experience live football since the closest teams are in arizona, dallas, and denver. I can't wait to see the improvements the AFL will make on the working class behalf.

It's too bad when any business suspends operations for a time. I am hopeful that the AFL will be back and the Blaze will reignite in 2010.

I am sorry for the owners and the employees who worked so hard to make the Blaze so successful and then have the AFL suspend operations.

Why do they insist on shoving this down our throats? Not only do I hope that RSL is next to go, I know that it is.

The ignorance demonstrated by some people. "Football's Ugly Baby" is correct. The demise of any organization, whether you like it or not, is bad for all of us. We need to maintain and grow not fall backwards.

Good luck to the AFL in restructuring.

You guys are ridiculous. Great atheltes playing a great game are out of a job and you're happy?? Have you no shame. Being an arena football fan for 10 years this has really broke my heart. I'm completely at a loss for words right now. A league filled with great talent and millions of fans worldwide will be missed! For me this is akin to a family member dieing. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on this league only for Baker, Elway, Jerry Jones, and their NFL cronies to come and destroy it. Thank You Jim Foster for creating one of the few joys in my life, Arena Football. We will return and be stronger than ever, God bless Arena Football.

Too bad. the AFL was good entertainment. Not a sport really but entertaining. Hopefully the owners now replace Jason Jones who is over paid and under qualified. Cut his 250k salary and keep some good people in that office. this sport will resurge, but the teams need to lower salary cap and get some reasonable arena leases that will make the sport profitable. starting over is the only way to go.

The Blaze averaged more than 15,000 fans and most of them paid to get in, unlike a lot of RSL fans.

"The Blaze averaged more than 15,000 fans and most of them paid to get in, unlike a lot of RSL fans. "

Uhh, this isn't going to turn into a Blaze v. RSL who goes under first fight is it? Blaze went under first, which is the first "pro" american football in SLC, so the proof is in the pudding.

As an RSL fan, I ask all RSL fans to NOT post here. I will not again. However, I don't want the bad karma associated with gloating over this.

Blaze and other "American Football" fans, RSL gets bashed every other day. So for us to see one of "yours" die on the vine, well, I just won't comment. Maybe you got the raw end of bad karma.

Stop bashing the AFL, stop bashing MLS and RSL. If you don't like it, don't read it or comment on it.
