Arena Football League to announce season's canceled

Wow! Is anyone thinking about the lost jobs here. Yes the organization is a fun and entertaining sport to watch, but let's look at it from another angle. Approx 500 players, 65 coaches, and several front office staff...now UNEMPLOYED! In this ecomomy, where people with tons of experience in the workforce can't even get a job. If the local grocery store lays off 100 people, there is an uproar by every economists. But no one says a word here!! Amazing, just amazing. I think the owners who voted to cancel the season are very selfish. Funny they are the most financially stable ones too. How ironic. The owners that have less wealth wanted to keep the season going...I guess this is how the rich stay rich...forget about everyone else. I hope the players and staff atleast get a severance package! I mean come on...even the dollar store gives that to their employees!

Maybe those poor layed-off people from the AFL can get a job with Major League Soccer. You know, the league all you arena fans said was going to fold within 5 years? MLS is one of the few sports that's actually growing right now, and they're hiring.

Dollar stores give severence pay? You are kidding, right?

Growing? The national TV rating was 0.7 for the MLS title game and attendance was down 1.8 percent.

Will anyone care? At least it was better then watching MLS or WNBA.

Arena football is too big to fail. Where's the bailout?

MLS revenue grew over 6% this past year. And the most important metric in sports, season ticket holders, grew 13% for the 2009 season.

It's just a fun day to be a soccer fan, having endured "MLS will fold in 5 years" comments for the past 15 years from all you made-for-TV American junk sports fans......looks like the chickens have come home to roost, haven't they?

Don't worry - I'm sure another sport that hopelessly alters the rules to favor the offense so there will be a score every 30 seconds so you won't change the channel will come along and save you from having to get off the couch and put down the pork rinds this summer.

Ahhh shoot!!!...I only have pro wrastling now.
