If they'd only get rid of Steve Brown. Yikes!!!! Could be worse though. Thankfully we don't have to listen to Dave Fox.
Anonymous | 7:46 a.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Really? I actually dont mind Steve Brown. The crew that is terrible is the pregame, halftime, and post game show's for the Jazz. Other than that I like the coverage of the Football games. Nice job KJZZ! Even you make the mtn look terrible!

Good point. Pace and David James are really bad.

It was great to be able to watch the 3A-4A-5A state football games. What a great job KJZZ did.
All of those home viewers just don't know what great games they missed with the 1A and 2A games not being broadcasted.
kjzz | 10:49 a.m. Dec. 5, 2008
thanks kjzz!!!

the mtn channel, all though a substandard channel, its the greatest thing to ever happen to weber and utah state.

if weber wins this saturday, they will be on espn1 or 2 next week. that means weber will have been on espn for football more than byu and utah combined this year.

Yes it was nice to have all the games that were televised available. Yes there were two other games played that would have been equally exciting to watch. I don't think KJZZ would have had to bump to much programing at 11AM and 2:00 PM Saturday.

We also need to support those that advertised on KJZZ during those games, as they ultimately paid the bill or part of it.

KJZZ and Laryy Miller Group you ROCK!!!
Jazz crew..... | 11:56 a.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Has got to go! Pace, James, and Bailey make me want to vomit. Excuse me, the toilet is calling for me.
Jazz crew continued..... | 12:00 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
But yes, thank you KJZZ for the coverage of the local football and basketball teams. It has been great. I agree that it is better than the Mtn. They make me want to spew as well. And yes it is bogus the Utes aren't even considered in the same breath with the Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, and Bama's of the nation.
Jazz Fans | 12:33 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
AGREED! David James on the Jazz post-game show comes off as a conceited know-it-all... quite boring. And Pace doesn't have a clue.

Nice job for the past two seasons of your coverage of high school football. It would bw nice if they would replay the high school game of the week at 11 p.m. like they did a year ago.

It would be awesome if they would have had the Snow-Butler game tomorrow on as well.

GREAT JOB
yes, but | 1:34 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Too bad KJZZ sold out to cable with their flagship team, the Jazz. Now that only a couple Jazz games a month are televised, and I don't have cable, this lifelong Jazz fan has basically lost interest in the team.

You lose fans anytime you stop showing the team. Just ask why baseball has sunk in popularity, especially on the east coast (with the sole exception of Boston and New York)--because baseball decided to televise the world series starting at 8:00 p.m., when kids are going to bed. Now, a generation later, baseball has sunk in popularity, both in viewers and players.

The Jazz have definitely lost at least one fan.

How about a mention of the Station that follows the teams all year long with two games every week? I guess the tape delay kills them, but I think they do a great job for the resources they have as a local provider. Not only have they been broadcasting since the mid 90's (the last 5 or 6 for 5A and 4A), but they now have a great studio show. Maybe KJZZ should try and get those guys on instead of Steve Brown and crew!
are you kidding | 4:20 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
kjazz is probably the worst channel i have had to watch. They do not do any research before the games they call and always end up looking foolish

and to the person who said go larry miller group

are you high? larry miller is the worst thing to happen to this state, he will stall progress and continue a rich tradition of offering some of the most crooked dealerships. ripping off thousands of stupid utahns that do not know anybetter

He runs this state and probably this message board, be superised if this gets posted

also larry is ruining the jazz, never win a title under him
re: kidding | 5:24 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
You are wrong in most of what you have said, but it is true that some of the guys on the high school games sound unprepared like Brown, Alema and Fox. Stein, Klauke and Boullion always sounded like they knew the teams much better than the others.
Could be worse... | 6:41 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Chris Tunis might make a comeback for tv.
chip | 6:42 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
nice of kjzz to brodcast high school games but maybe next year you could show some 1A and 2A games as well, maybe even the championship games if nothing else. The smaller classifications matter too!
Awesome!!! | 9:50 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Thank you KJZZ!!! Not much else to say. Wow, I can't believe you critics??? This is High School Football!! With the budget considerations and every thing else that it took to pull this off, KJZZ did an excellent job. You want John Madden? Al Michaels? Frank Gifford? Really, can you imagine these guys not willing to do these games? Ya right! Maybe you critics are saying you could do a better job? Why don't all of you volunteer to do your local games next year and prove yourselves worthy to be on the air?

Thanks KJZZ!! I hope you are willing to do the games again next year. Some of us appreciate it!!!

It's always good no matter who is calling the games to get high school games on TV. As for the JAZZ TV I miss Hot Rod. He is the best! I don't even care if it was a simulcast and he probably talked more than what normal broadcasters do, he blows Bolerjack, etc. away. I did like it better when he did the games solo, Ron Boone was okay but Hot Rod was at his best as a lone wolf...

I would rather watch the Comcast guys! They actually take there time to know the kids! If you havent seen it, they interview them and the coaches and they do a weekly show updating the year. Thank you KJZZ, but also thank you Comcast!

Kudos to KJZZ for covering HS sports. We need more of that and I love it! but....I agree with the comments on the announcers. They make stuff up, comment off the seat of their arse, and insult any one watching who understands the game. I ususally watch it on mute. half the time I think they are more interested in taking about their own thing rather than actually reporting on the game on the field! Horrible announcing. Same goes for the mtn. Those guys are clueless.
Awful TV | 8:00 p.m. Dec. 6, 2008
Utah has the worst broadcasters ever: Steve Brown - terrible. David James - dopey; Dave Fox - felon. Doesn't surprise me since is a LHM company.
Kudos | 8:54 p.m. Dec. 6, 2008
Kudos goes to the production teams that produce the local sports -- NOT KJZZ managent. KJZZ Production staff has been decimated thanks to poor management. They layoff their best people and poor hundreds of thousands of $$$ down the drain promoting stupid morning programming. The production staff has been asked to do more and more with less and less recources. Basically it's a bunch of interns and entry level kids running the show, and they are paid peanuts. The organization is so top heavy it's comical. They have been keeping the ship afloat, but it is only a matter of time until the production quality starts to suffer.
all i can say... | 9:20 p.m. Dec. 6, 2008
is that at least they are broadcasting the games. that's all i can ask for. was able to see a few games this year that i wouldn't have otherwise seen
Mr. Funny | 7:32 a.m. Dec. 8, 2008
Why does David James think he needs to be funny - he's not. He is a stooge.
