Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, oldest apostle, 91, dies at home

Elder Wirthlin's testimony and example have changed my life for the better. How grateful I am for his years of service and dedication to the Lord and from reading the comments above, his personal service to his children and associates. We will do well to seek to pattern our lives after his.

When joining the church in 1978 while our sons were young, Elder Wirthlin was part of the memories of my first teachings from the church. He gave great words of comfort and wisdom during that time and all the years since have been inspired to live the gospel each time I have heard him speak or read his talks. He will be greatly missed but I have no doubt he will carry forth the work of Jesus Christ on the spirit side of the veil and meet his beautiful wife there. May God bless all of his family and our prayers are with them. Each day we pray for the leaders of the church in all they do to serve the Lord and his children. God Bless Joseph Wirthlin and is family and close friends, I said close friends because he has so many friends and admirers, he is a great man.

I am personally uplifted spiritually reading his onference addresses hearing of his death brings sadness to my heart but i am certain his is with God i have to be firm bold and enthusiatic as him
