So the growth that many northern cities, mostly on the west side of SL Valley has been plagued by deceptive developers and city officials studies. Although the UGS has made more information available much of the information was already their. I have read the UGS studies and it is clearly indicated that their are many areas developed that should not have been. It placed home buyers and homeowners in harms way. The developing northern cities know of these dangers yet allowed developement. The red flag came when cities were including in home building contracts with land developers that cities were indemnified of any legal liability for developement. This means that cities knowingly with full knowledge of geological hazards allowed home construction on land that should not be developed with dense population. The areas devleoped was done by deception and lies. The warnigs have been in the UGS mapping and charts for decades and methods of avoiding responsibilty by cities and developers have been established to allow deceptive developement. Thus, home buyers have been duped into living in dangerous geological hazard areas and many are finding this out with major geological damage to their homes.

And you are? And what makes you this expert? Furthermore, if we want to get nitpicky, no one should be living in Utah, anywhere, because there is geologic activity throughout the state, there are faults everywhere, risks of flooding everywhere. So, where should we live? There are risks everywhere? It's part of life. But it doesn't mean someone has lied, deceived, or fraudulent; it means there are risks in life, we all know it, but we are willing to live, act, and move forward anyway.

Hurricane, Laverkin, and Toquerville all sit on top of the Hurricane fault--so, according to you, no one should be living there. Same for the Wasatch front, SLC, Provo, Orem, Logan, Ogden, all sit on or near fault areas, so no one should be living there either.

All rivers and creeks are subject to flooding. If enough water comes fast enough or long enough, every river and creek on earth will flood. The Mississippi floods, the Red River floods, the Virgin River floods, and Cottonwood Creek floods. So what?

"more GREED, GREED, GREED" You sound like a California hippie.

It is greedy to build homes knowingly on unstable ground, not disclose the hazards and then say "buyer beware, I'm not responsible" after the home inevitably cracks apart. You don't have to be a hippy from California to think that profiteering in this manner is just plain wrong.

Most are closed minded, and only think and thought.
Most remarks have nothing to do with the story
