I just saw on a blog that Dew doesn't have a disclaimer on his signs.

There's a big difference between Matheson and Dew. Matheson signs are legal.

What did Matheson do is his 8 years to prevent the energy and financial crisis? Support Pelosi.

If you admire and support Nancy Pelosi, be sure to vote for Jim Matheson. If you support partial birth abortion, liberal activist judges, big government spending and bailouts, surrender in Iraq, weak national security, etc., etc., BE SURE TO VOTE FOR JIM MATHESON.

Bottom line--A VOTE FOR JIM MATHESON IS A VOTE FOR NANCY PELOSI. Please bear that in mind when you go to the polls.

Good luck Mr. Dew | 9:04 a.m. Oct. 16, 2008
I just moved from the 2nd district to the 3rd so I can't vote for you, but you have a good chance of beating Matheson. We're tired of him. I'll vote for Bennion Spencer.
Go Matheson!!! | 10:41 a.m. Oct. 16, 2008
Are you all kidding? Jim Matheson was one of the only ones that listened to his constituents and voted no on the bail-out. I am proud to have him represent my district. I just saw Bill Dew speak and was not impressed. Go Matheson!! You listen to your constituents!!!

Jim Matheson is a Democrat and a vote for him is a vote for Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and oh yes, Barney Frank (one of the authors of the current federal legislation that created this disaster in lending practices in the mid 1990's). The most liberal and corrupt politicians this country have ever known.
WAKE up and start seeing the REAL story.
FACTS speak loud once you can find them.
The problem | 10:52 a.m. Oct. 16, 2008
is that the Republican Party seems to insist on nominating candidates for this office who have absolutely no idea how Congress works. Matheson is far from perfect, but really guys, there must be at least one Republican in the 2nd District who can comprehend that ALL Congressional bills are the result of compromise and conference. Bill Dew isn't quite as dumb as John Swallow the last two elections, but he's certainly not among the "best and brightest".

There really isn't much difference, with the exception of the fact that Matheson will vote for Nancy Polosi for speaker, and will not go against her and the leadership on major issues.

Both of these candidates support amnesty for illegal aliens. Matheson supports it because his party leadership does and he seldom steps far out of line. Dew supports amnesty because he believes (as a homebuilder) that we need the cheap labor in order to build cheap houses. So there is no difference on this issue, just a difference in reasoning. Both will say that the laws should be enforced, but would then grant amnesty to those that break the law. Go figure.

Hey kids, Jim isn't Nancy Pelosi. If you want to run against Nancy Pelosi Mr. Dew you should move to California.

There are no differences...... They are Politicians
Definition of Politician = a seeker or holder of public office, who is more concerned about winning favor or retaining power than about maintaining principles.

IF they are mostly the same,

Then it would be best for Utah to vote republican,

or else we effectively reduce Utah's representation to only 1.
One Party State... | 2:47 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
One Party Rule, Now and Forever. Vote Republican.
Don't Do The Dew | 5:18 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
I can't vote for Dew because he doesn't believe in global warming but I can't vote for Matheson either, what shall i do?

I completely fail to comprehend how an informed citizen can argue that a one party system would be good for America. Such a suggestion is absurd. No matter how strongly I favor one party over the other, I know that the presence of the other has a tempering effect that protects our freedoms and ensures that nobody has unlimited power. If you look at world history, the only nations to have a single political party are totalitarian regimes where the party robs the citizens of their freedoms.

No matter how conservative Utah is as a state, they have a laudable history of electing some democrats to represent them. It shows that they understand, unlike some who have posted comments here, the value in two parties competing for our vote. Those democrats have usually acted like republicans once they got to congress, but they still allow Utah to have a voice in the capitol regardless of which party is in power. This is intelligent, unlike the ridiculous party-line assertions of some here.

Jim Matheson is not bad for a Democrat and should be commended for voting against the bailout scam.

However, He lacks the guts or power to go against his party leaders on many issues.

I CANNOT suport anyone who will be little more than a puppet controlled by Pelosi and the ultra-liberals.

Sorry, Jim, Bill Dew may not be perfect either, but we must do everything we can to stop an Obama steamroller from destroying our nation and leading us into a socialist wealth redistribution scheme that always fails.

DEW FOR CONGRESS!
"not bad" | 7:18 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
John by saying "not bad for a democrat" you imply that democrats are inherently bad. That attitude is why in this state you put an R after Mickey Mouses name and he usually wins.
Republicans consistently run against the Nancy Pelosi's and left wing liberals. They say that is why we should vote for the republican. I tend to vote republican on a national level because by nature I am a moderate-conservative. Jim Matheson is a moderate-conservative Democrat. Just because someone is a Democrat doesn't make them Nancy Pelosi or Barak Obama. If republicans want to win back the second district, run against Jim Matheson and what he has done poorly. Also, give us a reason to vote for the republican candidate, tell us what he will do better. I am willing to vote republican but haven't heard why I should.
Libertarian on the ballot | 9:32 a.m. Oct. 17, 2008
Libertarian educator Mathew Arndt is the candidate most like Ron Paul on the ballot in the 2nd Congressional District.

If you favor liberty over Republican fascism for big business and Democratic socialism for the bureaucratic class, vote Libertarian.

AlmostEvery repulican votedagains the bailou, Don't try and paint Matheson as a hero here. I want to know were Matheson was when democrats were fighting reform to fanie may, and defending the people who causedthismess. And while democrats were demanding these bad loansbe made, Where was Matheson?
Anonymous | 5:32 a.m. Oct. 18, 2008
Matheson showed from the first year he was elected that he does not hold the values of the people he was elected by. He has quietly done what he pleased until 6 months before each election and then he has voted tightly with what Utah would expect on every controversial vote and with the Democrats on every vote that the people of Utah are open minded enough to not care which way he voted.

Well, most voters are pretty open minded. They elect the folks who fight for what they see as correct. That is why you see legislatures from every walk of life and with every set of values possible. It is even true that there are at least 2 openly gay members. Who knows what else is true. Probably a lot of other things.

Too bad the voters are so use to the spit and polish of a good politician to not be able to get back to the common sense of their values.
