Is it okay for me to say I still wish he had played here instead of Oregon? He'd have still made it.

Loti,
You're a stud! You make all of us Utah boys proud. Thanks for being such a great role model for all the boys around the state. You are an unsung hero to may here in the SLC.

As Loti has shown, you can be LDS and play football somewhere besides BYU and Utah and be REMARKABLY successful....and more importantly ...LEAVE YOUR MARK! Oregon loves Loti as much as Utahs does!

Who has more first round picks in the last 10 years PAC 10 or Mountain West. Anyone with that much talent better leave, so they can get a better life in the NFL.

He made the best choice going to Oregon.
Great player.
Great player.

Of course you "can" play somewhere else as an LDS athlete - but clearly BYU's national recognition is giving the Church positive notoriety...
Many times it boils down to whether or not you are in it for your own personal gain, or if you are willing to give of your time and talents for a better good.

How does plating for BYU put you in the better good? Missionary work accomplishes great things. Don't get the two confused.

Thanks for your words of wisdom, Joe. I hope all of us, as we consider careers, don't try to think of what's best for ourselves or our families. No, we should think of Joe and BYU, and figure out how best to give of our time and talents for a "better good." I have just announced to my wife and children that I am taking a 100% pay cut, and loss of upward mobility, so that I can volunteer full time at BYU as a tour guide. Sure, things will be much more hectic for me and mine, but as I regale the visitors at BYU with faith-promoting stories (including how my wife and I met in our freshmen ward), I know that you all will be blessed because I am giving of my time and talents for a better good.
"Better good" my tush. He seems to be doing better in his current position, and able to help many more people, than if he sacrificed it all for Joe's Saturday afternoon viewing entertainment.
Joe, I personally invite you to post your resume so that the rest of us can determine your new job to help "the better good."

I can't remember the college game but I saw Ngata crunch the Center of the opposing team and block a field goal (or extra point). That dude is STRONG!!! I wish he would have played for BYU.
