EAST High School. I bet the could even win 5A.

Dream on East. You're not even close to the same league. You might not even make the 5A playoffs.
Good Luck Millard! | 6:24 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
Go Millard! You ladies are awesome....you can win this. Take State!

I'll take that bet... East couldn't beat five teams in the 5 A..Let alone win state.

Good Luck Springville It's your year. Fight hard and you should bring home the title. Good luck to the other region 7 teams too!!

Highland should have no problem over WoodsCross. Woods Cross was outshot in most games because their mid fielder's are too slow and they don't control the middle of the field. You should dominate the field at will. Go Rams!!!

Bonneville 2, Orem 0. Lakers were the best team in Region 5 this year and are now playing their best soccer.

East would definitely make the playoffs in 5A. When it comes to soccer the best teams in 3A, 4A, and 5A are all very good. Now that would be a fun tournament. The top 5 teams in 3A, 4A, and 5A and then the 2A champ. A 16 team tournament to truly see who is the best in the state.
Re:Soccer Coach | 11:22 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
Your dreaming.. The 5A schools have wanted such a tournament for years, it's your 4-3-2-A'S that don't want it.
Bye Bye Tigers? | 11:30 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
If I'm not mistaking Bonneville was the 4th best team Region 5 this year, not the best. Orem 2 Bonneville 0
GO SPARTANS!!!! | 11:39 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
Don't count out MURRAY they did beat EAST!!!! MURRAY has one of the high scorers in 4A STEPHANIE PALMER. MURRAY'S defense is hard to beat with the 3rd best goalie in the state. (SASHA ANDERSON) Go spartans THIS IS THE YEAR!!!!!!!
True State Champion | 12:10 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
I say we have a true state champion. Keep things the way they are, so that teams in each classification still have a chance to win a classification championship. But then after each classification championship is over, have a state championship.

5A Champ vs. 2A Runner up
3A Champ vs. 4A Runner up

4A Champ vs. 3A Runner up
2A Champ vs. 5A Runner up

Now that would be fun. Probably no way you could get all the different classifications to agree or the UHSAA.
re: GO SPARTANS!!!! | 12:17 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
Yet a 4th place region 5 Mountain Crest destroyed Murray 4-0 in the pre-season. Sky View will have very little problem with them. As for Orem, Bonneville will beat them because of their unique style of play that Orem will not know how to defend.

Bonneville best team in Region 5? UH..O.K. My money is on Bountiful. Woods Cross is also tough and I think Sky View will make some noise.
Ram Tough | 1:41 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
...pre-season means NOTHING. Murray-East-Highland are in the toughest region. Watch out for all of them. Even the 3 seed Highland should beat Woods Cross. Woods Cross has the slowest mid fielders in the state. They get out-shot every game. Their offense has kept them in it but they probably won't against a great Highland defense.
4a???No Contest | 2:35 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
pine view soccer is not only gonna take state they will do it with ease! they start tonight off with mountainview and will keep tearing it up all the way to the championship!
Thank You Ram Tough | 2:47 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
I agree 100% pre-season games are PRE-SEASON. MURRAY-EAST-HIGHLAND ALWAYS put up a good fight.
GO DEVILS! | 6:09 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
Springville just beat West 3-0!!!! OW OW! devils keep it up! wow they are hot and on FIRE! Can you handle the heat next victim? I DON'T THINK SO!
Murray | 6:10 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
is weak. proved once again by a first round exit. Alta will win 5A and East will win 4A.
re: Ram Tough | 6:18 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
As I said to go Spartans, Sky View and Bonneville would win, and the did. Preseason does tell a lot and region 5 is supper tough this year. I will admit that the Pineview result is a bit of a surprise to me though.

Region 5 learned last year it's not going to be a walk to the later rounds... they're back on track this year.
Region 5 | 9:06 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
Region 5 proved how tough it was today going 4-0. It is a shame they did not get the 5th team in this year, oh well best of luck to the remaining teams. Likely it will be a Bountiful - Woods Cross rematch for the championship.

i think you forgot bonneville. And East. oh and maybe springville, seeing as they didn't choke like we all thought they would. Woods cross and Bountiful are great...but don't think it will just turn out that way.
Anonymous | 7:48 a.m. Oct. 15, 2008
I agree that East and Springville can still do some damage but the region 5 teams have been tested all year long and are better for it. Oh and you are right Bonneville could be the dark horse here.

2A vs. 5A What is the point?
i agree | 5:34 p.m. Oct. 15, 2008

East...i wouldn't speak so soon if i were you. Sky View is doing pretty dang good....

GO PINEVIEW!
pineview fan | 11:36 a.m. Oct. 16, 2008
pineview doesn't get much coverage, but they're gonna take state! no one really pays much attention to them...maybe for the better.
Anonymous | 6:48 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
Pineview got murdered by Bountiful. Better luck next year. Springville controlled the game and beat Sky View 2 to 0. Well done Mighty Red Devils!
Anonymous | 7:55 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
east lost to Bonneville! I just love it when the underdog wins. Bonneville wasn't even ranked in the top five. Good job! Springville did great too...I'd like to see that game between them and Bountiful...should be a fantastic game. Woods cross killed timpview (knew that would happen) timpview was so lucky to get as far as they did. the fight for 4A state champ is getting more intense!
Annonymous | 8:26 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
GO LADY RED DEVILS-Springville played beautifully
today-its your year!!!!!
Bengals | 9:03 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008
Ha ha ha,
Nobody even predicted that the Bengals would be one of the 5A top-four huh? Hey don't forget that we were the only team in state to beat ALTA and ruin their perfect season!!!!! Go Bengals, claw the Knights next and show the whole state we dominate!
ALTAFAN | 3:35 p.m. Oct. 17, 2008
RE Bengals, I didn't predict it but I did say that I hoped for it ;)
