What a joke. The way the team played, why would he even accept the award?
Really? | 2:44 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
He dropped more passes than he caught. They can't be serious?
What? | 2:44 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
I think I must have read the article wrong?

Oh Brother | 2:45 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
That's all he needs to inflate his ego. We Ute fans know he isn't any good and is just an arrogant, holier-than-thou poser. So what if his numbers deserved the award, doesn't mean you should give it to him. Dumb MWC.
living right | 3:23 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Shouldn't he win every week?
a fan | 3:24 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
I'm a BYU fan but not a collie fan. I appreciate what he does but for our team but the things he has said and the way he acts sometimes is embarrassing.
Bleeding_Blue | 3:28 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Amazing how many Ute trolls just can't stand this . . . .

Get over it. He had a great game, and BYU got a good win.

I love it when fat couch potatoes with Doritos dust all over their fingers complain about someone who has had four strait 100 yard games and seven touchdowns. Your right, he probably doesn't deserve it. He's only 2nd in the NATION in receiving. For all you Utah fans out there, go ask Brice McCain how good Collie is. 4th and 18 and magic happens!!

P.S. Oh Brother, thanks for acknowledging Collies numbers are good enough to warrent an award yet at the same time saying he "isn't any good". Typical Ute.
Jerry | 3:31 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
To "Really" You are really really dumb. You are an embarrassment to all who know you.
Overrated?? | 3:33 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
I suppose you guys forgot about the 4th and 18 where this "poser" torched the vaunted Ute secondary. The guy is a class act and backs it up on the field. Get over it. Who would you have picked, Johnson, Mack, or maybe Asiata, yea they all had just career days against the worst team in the conference. You show your stupidity each time you post.
No utes??? | 3:38 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
I'm so surprised that no utes made it for offensive player of the week, but you would have to have an offense first in order to qualify. As for the defense, since they allowed Wyoming their only TD this year in conference, that doesn't work either. Too bad, but thanks for participating.
Rocky Whinning Long | 3:40 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
got blasted by the league for his bogus whine about the block in the back that was obvious when you see the replay. Every year we have to listen to him whine when he loses to BYU. He can't stand the fact that one his assistants owns his team every year.

Yeah Austin Collie! he is the coolest ever! keep it up!
Congrats Austin! | 3:48 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Well deserved.

Utah homers complaining about the award is simply confirmation that, except for a couple of drops, you played great.

It's obvious that some Utah fans are still sore about 4th & 18.
Brother, What a Joke u Really Ar | 3:54 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
No, here is the real obscenity coming out of the MWC...that some kicker from Utah, Sakoda, would actually win the award 10 times for special teams player of the week when the reality is that the Ute offense is so pathetic and inept that Wyoming can out gain them in offensive yards. I mean, really, why would a kicker that has to continually come in and save an inept offense, be given the award? Given the number of chances he is has to kick a field goal, (since the offense can't score a touchdown) wouldn't 90-95% of the Kickers in the Country do just as well? Oh Brother, now that is a joke. Really. I wonder why the MWC officials can't figure that Joke out?

BTW; way to go Collie, still leading the Nation (top 5) in yards, touchdowns, receptions. Man, I guess you really are doing something right. Player of the week! Again.

Dang Austin! Another 70 yards on Saturday and you would have had more offensive yards than the entire Ute team.

OK, so that isn't saying that much.
Re: a fan | 4:11 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Amen!
Funny Thing Is | 4:46 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
The funny thing is that even if Collie had not converted on 4th and 18, the Vegas Bowl would still have chosen BYU over the Yewts.

BYU 42 Utah 12 (all field goals)
Well Deserved | 4:58 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Collie deserves the award, he's one of the best receivers in the nation and the best in the conference. Let the kid speak his mind, so far he's backed it up on the field.

To: A Fan..you're not a BYU fan, just another Yewt in hiding trying to stir the pot. He's done nothing to embarrass the Y and is class act off and on the field.
FootballFan | 5:01 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Ok Austin Collie is a really good receiver and he deserves this award and more. It doesn't matter what he says or how he acts. What matters is how he preforms on the field. Right now, Collie is one heck of a football player. How can you say he is a poser? He is fast, can get open, and has good hands. For the numbers that he puts up I don't understand how you can call him a "poser." He is a significant football player is rightfully deserved this award.

Don't you fret the Utes are coming and Collie knows it. Talk all you want about about BYU. Very good football the Cougs are, but the Utes vs. COugs is getting closer and you Cougar fans deep down know it this isn't your year.

Also, I win a is a win regardless how it is done. i.e. New Mexico and for Utah Wyoming
Awww man! | 5:13 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Why couldn't the MWC have given it to any one of the following:
Louks - 50 yds rushing
Brown - 57 yds recieving
Johnson - 110 yds passing

Each of the above were game leaders for Utah. I think the utes got hosed. Collie only had 167 yds on 9 catches. The wrong guy got the award this week.

The U clearly has a high-powered offense and the numbers above only confirm that. WYO was overmatched on the offensive side of the ball.
Weak schedules | 5:19 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Arguing about whose weak schedule is better/worse, is like arguing about whose ugly dance partner is the prettiest.

Face it, neither team has beaten a Top 25 team yet this season.

The best you can say about BYU 6-0 and Utah 7-0 is that both teams deserve respect for their records as 2 of only 10 remaining undefeated teams and that neither team has been seriously tested.

BYU has an opportunity to prove themselves this week against a 6-1, Top 25 TCU team on the road.

Utah will have to wait a few more weeks to prove themselves.
Magic Happens! | 5:35 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Collie & Harline are still open.
wait | 6:48 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
has the U played the Lobo's yet...I don't think so and I believe at New Mexico it could be a real eye opener...there is no way that Johnson completes a pass because he has NO sip on the ball...we all watch..even us U fans know our offense stinks..go defense..
BYU | 8:21 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Wow!! why do all the Ute fans bash on BYU players? You guys say people suck just because they don't have a perfect game. And why do you say that the whole byu team sucks too? Oh Wait, tell me again who has the nations longest winning streak? Oh yeah, it's the cougs. And what team choked at the end of both games against the Utes? Oh yeah... It was the Utes. Byu is a better team than the Utes and this years game is going to be amazing.

Dear Ute Fans,
Remember 4th and 18.
Luv,
Any person with a brain in their head.
P.S. By the way, Harline is still open!

Congrats to Austin Collie. I have a 7 year old son named Austin and Austin Collie is a great role model for him. Every time we've asked him for a picture or autograph, he's very willing and always gives him a high five. He's the best wide receiver to ever play at BYU and will get many more of these awards between now and the end of next season.

Keep up the good work Austin! Can't wait for you to torch TCUs defense on a couple of long balls. I'm sure you saw what TSU did to them on Saturday.
Tex-Mex | 2:24 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
Isn't this a BYU blog? So the mighty Toledo Rockets (1-4 going into the game)go to Ann Arbor and beat Michigan by 3 points. Another team goes from the MWC to Ann Arbor and beats Michigan by 3 points and all kinds of spewing forth of how great they are. Maybe these two teams now need to play to see who is the better team. BAH!! There is such vitriolic spewing from Logan and Salt Lake that it makes this entry on a blog probably my last. Very little intelligence is display on these blogs. From a BYU FAN.
