Great to see Fes working hard to get on this team. keep it up Fes! and yes to Jerry to point out, " Hey Kosta pass the ball?" we don't need another big men shooting, okur can do that for us? Kosta better impress sloan by playing defense and rebounding!

To replace Jarron Collins as the back center.( Let Collins go work on his golf game or golf cart driving.)Fez has been working on his basketball game and it shows. People are starting to believe in him. Is it true that Jeff Hornacek and Mark Eaton have been working with him? If so it's working,Fez is looking like he could help close that big hole in the paint.I love that hook shot too.Go Fez, Go Kirilenko,Go Jerry, Go Jazz!

Where's the Broadcast? | 9:34 a.m. Oct. 13, 2008
I don't believe the truck issue about not televising the game, or the one in Chicago. Might it be something more to do about the economy and in paticular the automobile economy? I think so.

Way to go on the broadcast. I really would much rather watch George Lopez and some infomercials than the Jazz. What were your ratings for that time slot??? Morons. If you are trying to save money then don't send the broadcast team. Just televise the game. I don't care if it is from the Blazers broadcast team, the Univision team, or in Russian. I just want to see my team play. I had nothing to do all FREAKIN day thanks to you. HECK!

Way to go FESS!!
The guy is already a top 5 NBA center in terms of athletic ability..maybe higher. And he is very young, came to a new country, new culture, new language..and most people will never know how tought that is to overcome. Seeing pictures of Fess playing against Shaq, shows just how big he is, how muscular his legs are, yet he can dribble, run and jump. And he seems to be listening, learning..which is also a rarity in the NBA. Yeah, he will have many 3 minute, 3 foul games, while he learns. And I dont think sloan will match him against smaller teams..but I am excited about his potential.
A huge reason why Fess played so much better is AK. Any player is going to play harder when he gets to make a few shots..and AK was looking for him. It is no secret that Dwill will favor his friends like Brwewer, CJ, when he is controlling the ball..and over look AK and Fess. And having AK play a point forward position off teh bench will recharge his game.
What Jazz fan is not enthusiastic about the upcoming season?

The possibilites | 2:04 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
This preseason is showing some real exciting possibilities. It seems Sloan has found the magic rotation. I hope he sticks with it and takes a chance, dumping fools like Collins (a gold car injury? Really? And he gets upset at Fes for coloring his hair?). Here's the rotation I'm rooting for:
Starters:
Deron Willaims
Ronnie Brewer
CJ Miles
Carlos Boozer
Mehmet Okur
Second Unit:
Ronnie Price
Kyle Korver
AK
Paul Millsap
Kyrylo Fesenko
Those two groups could do some real damage. You could sub out our whole first string at once for the second and I don't think we'd miss a step. In fact, on Defense, our second unit would probably be better. Of course, D-will is gonna play over 35 minutes a game, so he'll be both units, but Price and Knight both are great players and worth their weight in gold.
If AK can get Fes going like that night after night, say goodbye to Collins, hello to a real center on the team at last, and watch for AK to get the sixth man award. And maybe a long overdue Coach of the Year for Sloan for the daring and brilliant rotation.

Sloans comments | 3:36 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Sloans comments went both ways in this article. Loving on Fess and dissing on Koufus. That green light comment was hilarious.
When will these dumb rookies ever learn, especially on a team as offensively talented as the Jazz, that they are not being brought here for their offensive prowess.
It has been a non-stop 24-7 discussion this preseason about the need for defense so Koufus decides to shoot everytime he touches it? Nice. What a waste of all that good Karma he had built up with Sloan for doing what he was supposed to.
Is this really rocket science? You are hired to do what the boss wants you to do, not what you feel like--at least thats how it is for most people who have jobs in the real world.
Don't be a dufus, Koufus!!!

Yeah...Koufus shot the ball when it came his way..but that is his strength. He is more of a finesse player, alot like Okur..hmm...does having Kosta give the Jazz leverage if Momo opts out?
But yeah..Kosta is gonna make alot of rookie mistakes, but I love the potential of having a pair of your 7ft player, whose talents complement each other..and can grow and improve together.

It is good to see the others have noticed that no matter how good DWill is, and we do love his play, his unwillingness to include AK in the offense has contributed to AK's problems. It is hard to see fans bad mouthing AK when the style of play demanded by Sloan lends itself to the success of a shooting power forward/passing point guard combination. The reason the Spurs are so successful is their coach gets everyone in on the game. Sure Sloan is a great coach but it would be nice to see how the Jazz would be to watch with a little different style of game. Even when they were losing after John and Karl retired, it was fun to watch them play a more open style when AK was carrying the team... Just my take.. I'm no expert but just love to watch great 'team' play..

I think the blog - Another Jazz Fans in Asia, has rightfully pointed out that although Fes's double-double is very encouraging, we need to be aware that it is not really a competitive game considering that most of the Portland's best players are not in the line-up, except Oden & Travis Outlaw.
But I am still happy that we have more choices for the back-up Centre position.
