talking about defense and playing defense is a whole diffrent thing. Guys like Matt who plays with there hands, swiping at the ball at every chance they get, won't get the job done. They need people like Arujo who was let go, man he could play defense!!

I still don't understand paying good money to keep C. J. Miles. Morris looks just as good or better then Miles.

Is Harpring still on the team? He's always hurt and he hit his prime 3 years ago now hes just a lead weight.

Any word on how many of those games will be broadcast in HD? Will we see any HD on FSN?

with CJ they should of let him go. Brewer is a stud and needs to be on the floor longer than anyone except D-will

@ Tommy K & why
Harpring may be a few step slower but I think he still deserves a roster spot and here's why...
He is an old school veteran enforcer, and he is the only one the Jazz have. If you name a player on the Jazz roster who would make you think "that dude is tough", every time you are going to say MAtt Harpring. When you hear other guys around the league talk about him they all say the same thing, they all hate playing him because he is so strong and physical on both ends of the court.
If you watched him last year against T-Mac, sure he got alot of fouls, but Mac almost threw punches at him he was so frustrated.
Even though he is probably slower than Sloan he is still probably one of the best on-the-ball defenders the Jazz have.
His offense does not require athleticism. He rarely turns the ball over and his mid range jumper is money.
He is a great Locker room influence for the younger players.
Should he play more than 5-10 minutes on most nights? Probably not. But I still think the Jazz need him.

I dont think we overpaid for cj think about it he should be a senior in college. cj has way to much up side. what im worried about is how are we going to resign brewer, milsap, and korver.thats only the begining; okur and boozer both can opt out after this season. Im curious on how it all will pan out. it could be a totally different team next season. that would suck because i think they are building good chemisty. time will tell. jazz all the way

Hey "steven" you didn't pay a cent for cj, Miller did.
Hey Magnus, any "athlete" who isn't "athletic" or has an offense that doesn't require "athleticism" is in the wrong business. We call them "athletes" because they ARE "athletic" and their job (i.e. playing hoops) requires a GREAT DEAL of ATHLETICISM!
To all, it's real easy to coach from your season seats, from Iggy's, or from the couch. It's another thing, entirely, when your sitting in the coach's chair.

We need CJ because Harp was obviously pretty discouraged and not making much progress--he might be done. We will need CJ. Almond routinely got blocked last night and had some turnovers and made some silly decisions. CJ is more of an athlete than Almond will ever be.
We need Brewer on the floor more? Why so he can miss some more WIDE OPEN JUMPERS? Sure he can dunk (most NBA players can) and he is athletic but if he is going to play the SG position he better learn ho to bloody shoot!! We can not have 4 out of 5 players only being able to score at the rim. That is easily stifled in the playoffs by packing the paint. Game over.
I am hoping alot of the FSN games are in HD. Freaking Nuggets have their own stinking HD channel on my Dishnetwork--why can't the Jazz broadcast all their games in HD like them? I can't even get the KJAZZ games in HD on Dish. They do broadcast in HD don't they? HD on Comcast?

It's awfully easy for booxe to continue to yak about improving their defense when he continues to ride the pines, laughing with his buddies, in hi street clothes. I mean, at least look interested in the game and encourage your teammates if you're not going to actually play. What happened to making sure the team's chemistry is going well in the pre-season. Kind of difficult with a starter not playing yet.

I don't think the Jazz will be that good this year, they will take a step back. They have basically the same team from last year, with the same weaknesses. They needed to acquire a veteran center for defensive purposes, instead they drafted a hack named Kosta Koufos. All they basically did was sign Brevin Knight to back up Williams at the point, which will not have much impact. Unless this entire team suddenly devotes itself to play solid defense (something I doubt will happen) it will be a long season. Injuries are already a question as Harpring is in bad shape and may not even come back at all. And Boozer might come up lame again also as he has leg problems.

Not sure how much daylight CJ is going to see. Sure he looks good at times, but it is a numbers game.
It looks like AK will be a point forward, hi energy player coming off the bench, KK is still one of the best shooters in the league and Milsap is a hustling, tough low post player.
Again..looking at the bench players-Price, AK, KK and Milsap is gonna be a title contender type of bench. and whomever plays well, slaon will let finish the game. All this spells to little pt for Miles. But, dont rule out trade bait for a player the Jazz covet..like Kirk hinrich..
