I hadn't heard of these books before, but they look interesting. I'll bet just about every kid in the country has had the tiniest introduction to Nicholas Flamel already, as he is featured prominently, if obliquely, in the first Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. (The Sorcerer's Stone, or more correctly the Philosopher's Stone, is a key alchemical goal.) Again, this looks like an interesting concept on which to build a series.
