Boozer out with a sore muscle, there's a shocker.
Enough | 1:12 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
We're going to pay this guy between 18-24M/year? Yikes. Here's to Paul Milsap earning a starting spot and finishing at the rim!
Sokol | 1:28 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
This Boozer things does not sound good...Why isn't
AK 47 starting at power forward in place of Boozer?

At least this means Koufos will be able to get more minutes. I really want to see him.
deja vu | 1:36 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
oh no, here we go again....
What about the Olympics? | 1:51 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Wasn't it sore when he was playin... oops, my bad.
nostradamus | 1:59 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Mark my words; Boozer will opt out of his contract w/ the Jazz and sign for really big $ w/ the Heat.

Seriously, Who cares its football season!?
A sore hammy? | 2:00 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! last time he had one of those he has out for almost 8 seasons!!!!!!
lumpy | 2:06 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
That's ok. Just gives ol' Millsap more time to showcase his abilities. Most of the time I'd rather watch Paul play anyway. The boy's got some mad skills!
That time of year again | 2:07 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Fall is in the air, and Boozer is on the injury report.
I guess... | 2:17 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
If you don't play all summer (thanks coach K) your hamstrings could get a little tight.
moneyfornothin | 2:23 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Here we go again......
Calm down | 2:34 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
...its just the preseason.
Enough with Enough | 2:37 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
WE'RE? I don't think that we pay anything. Larry Miller pays Boozer. Boozer is a phenominal player. The Jazz are lucky to have him.
Boise Bill | 3:00 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Please trade Boozer before the season starts. He's going to leave for money anyway at the end of the season. We might as well trade him before he sits all season for a bad hamstring.
Realist..... | 3:01 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
RELAX DUDES...its just pre-season.....Besides Boozer wants to stay home and learn how to play defense from the proverbially limp-wristed Obama!
AK | 3:05 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Sokol: "Why isn't
AK 47 starting at power forward in place of Boozer?"

Because he stinks.....next question......
J-dizzle | 3:11 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
This could be the best thing for the Jazz; Kosta, Kirilenko, and Millsap get more time. Equals Jazz lose two points a game on offense(my prediction) and they hold opponnents to ten points less a game(common sense)
Please | 3:17 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
I don't understand us here in Utah sometimes. The Government organizes this ludicrous bail-out, and people are okay with that. Boozer sits out a pre-season game to avoid injury and everyone flips out.
Boozer will not be signing with the Heat after the season. Yeah, his home is there, but if you would actually pay attention, you'd realize the Heat have Shawn Marion and just drafted number 2 pick Michael Beasley. They're set at PF.
And AK isn't starting for relatively the same reason Boozer isn't playing. He played all summer, and they're resting him. Come on people, it's a pre-season game. It doesn't count. D-will will probably play no more than 20 minutes too.
These games are played mostly to help teams determine their 2nd and 3rd strings. It's a good chance for guys like CJ, Almond, Kufous and Knight to find out and prove their roles on this team. So it makes sense to rest the starters.

So he is continuing his stellar record of long periods of injuries and choking in the playoffs.
Yeah, we're real lucky to have him.
Loozza | 3:28 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Booza is a Looza!
Bob Bessey | 3:33 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Booze needs a snooz. Give the man his Dues.

Hey Realist: get real and look at the polls ;) Bye Bye GOP!!!
Stephanie | 3:53 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
NOOOOOOOOOO What will I do now... We might actually win now.. Who saw that coming? Boozer sucks! WHAT!?! Who would have guessed that one......
J-dizzle | 3:57 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Oh and I forgot to mention bench harpring and/or cut him from the team. CJ and Ronnie B. are gonna tear up the league you'll see.
RE: AK | 4:01 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
he lame jazz fan, last time ak47 was starting at power forward he was an all-star. so check your stats about ak before you start talking crazy. who was the 2nd best player on the jazz last play offs, oh that would be the ak47. you probably just became a jazz fan two years ago when we were good again. please stop pretending to be a jazz fan. boozer is lame, and who cares his departure is going to open up a grip of cash for the jazz.
Gretzky | 4:03 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
the NBA is a joke. it's a rigged sport. hockey is better. change the channel.
Idiots | 4:10 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Jazz fans are so spoiled! Who would you rather have at PF? Bosch, Duncan, Amare? Well that ain't going to happen. I've never seen so much complaining about a guy who puts up 20 and 10. Without him are whole offensive spacing is off. Jazz fans whined about Malone too. I guess if you have a bad playoff series you are just supposed to clean house and invite back Adam Keefe. Get a grip guys!
Classless Fan | 4:11 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Can you say gilbert arenas. He is going to demand as much money and is going to go down when the wind blows.

He is so narcissistic and indifferent. His canned responses drive me crazy. LET HIM GO!! Better yet trade him!
Dave | 4:25 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Most of the comments up so far show how little you people really know about basketball. This is a contract year for Boozer and whether the Jazz resign him or not he is playing for new contract so we can expect the best from him this year.

Give the guy a break!!!
Re: Loozza | 4:32 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
youzza is da loozza
rsl | 4:42 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
I am gettin pumped for this season..
Hope we crush LA.

That sucks about boozer. But to all you people that were saying TRADE BOOZER last year. You guys are idiots he is a big part of our team.
Good news!!! | 4:45 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Good it's about time the press reported some good news instead of all this negative stuff. On the bright side we'll see some playing time for the much desreved younger players. Heck, Okur is much better than Booze anyways. Now that would be bad news if Okur, Brewer, or Williams got injured.
doug | 4:50 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
My guess is that Boozer shot around at practice and wasn't hitting his shots. Naturally he wants to start this year off good because he ended last year in shambles. So he say's his hamstring is a little sore when the reality is his shooting is a little sore.
page | 5:12 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
what you all might not understand is Booz can opt out of his contract. so if the Jazz trade him to whoever he can still opt out of his contract with them. so the jazz are stuck with him. so to speak. The only way Booz can help the Jazz if he doesn't sign a long term contract is sign with the Jazz and then they trade him
playoffs | 5:14 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
When people say he choked in the playoffs is ridiculous. People seem to forget who got us through the Houston 7 game series two years ago. Yeah he didn't play up to par last playoffs, but he did get us through the one before. Before you determine he chokes, lets see how he does this year in the playoffs.

Johnny Mac | 6:58 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
If Boozer says that he is healthy and fine, then I believe him! The only source that you can actually base anything off of.. is the source itself :)
I can't predict the future as to whether Boozer will stay will the Jazz or not.. but I do know this: The Utah Jazz are as hungry as ever for a Championship and I think if they ever have the best chance of winning it.. it's this year, and of course they know it! That's why Boozer wants to sit out tonight so that he doesn't worsen his hamstring. I am all for that and I don't understand why so many of you are bashing him for making a smart decision. He is an all star and he'll continue to be a dominating force in the NBA. We love you Boozer and your 20 ppg and 10 rpg- Please keep them coming :)
Peace.

Go Boozer!

BOOZ MANN IS TUFF AND WILL RETURN FROM THIS NAGGING INJURY
Typical Boozer | 8:50 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Yep, Carlos is starting early this year. He will sit out most of the season so he won't damage himself to get that big post Jazz contract he is looking for next season. I would count on him missing at least 40 plus games.
true jazz fan | 9:34 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Give Booz a break. He is saying all the right things -Jazz need to focus on D this season. If he can D up we have a great chance. Let's give this a chance to work. He can do it. For the most part, I like the fan posts, but don't just pile on. If you don't think his agent reads this stuff you're out of touch. I wouldn't play for a bunch of whiner fans.

I think Booz suffers the same pre season injuries that Malone used to suffer, remember?
tmakulant | 6:36 a.m. Oct. 8, 2008
