I wish I could believe this article, but I have read too much and have many Chinese friends that laugh at such press releases.

The regime' wants the world to think it is a perfect ruler because this is necessary to sustain its dictatorship.

Much of the Olympics was a charade. Underage gymnasts, beautiful singers not singing, computerized fireworks, etc.

Many don't understand the nature of a communist egimes. Take the recent "manned" spacewalk. It was done in water. Three visible astranauts, but 4 voices doing activity on the same hatch opening. This is now well documented, even by a Chinese working at NASA.

SARS and rampant HIV tainted blood supplies, denial after denial until it was so obvious they had no choice but to acknowledge it. Such was the case with the milk scandal also. It was known months before, but a perfect Olympics was more important that those 50,000 plus suffering infants and children.

Will it be fixed? The local communist officials make too much money off these activities.

Hopefully the communist party falls shortly. The Chines people are well capable of governing themselves in peace, despite contrary claims by the regime.
