As a alumni of Dixie College, I see nothing wrong with the Rebels mascot name. Many others here in St. George see nothing wrong with it. In fact, most of the locals who have supported this school for many years see nothing wrong with it. For many of us the school will always be the Dixie Rebels. If you are going to change one, you might as well change both. The U of U should seal the deal with Dixie College and then change the name to U of U-St. George. Then come up with a clever mascot name and start with a new legacy. Changing the mascot name just for change is just lame. Because of this name change, many like myself have discontinued support for the school's sports programs. Maybe when they find a new identity they can find new followers who will support the change. However I think they have already lost a huge following over this fiasco who may never return.

Red Hawks sound like a great choice.
