"PRICE — Concerned neighbors ..."

The Board of Regents would approve a full-sized replica of the Parthenon outside the stadium for added restrooms if the University Administration asked for it.

Remember, University planners and higher officials kept UTA's little lie from the public and the campus as a whole, wherein they knew that UTA planned to cut down over 150 wonderful old shade trees to install TRAX.

There are two problems. There is the higher Ed bureaucracy that is both disfunctional and malfunctional. And, there is a U of U aristocracy that has far too much power...power over state money and over its own "serfs", (as it views its little charges/employees).

Regents should stop makeing unnecessary
expansions that stay empty most of the time and dormant most of the year. Start thinking more like Sarah Palin,

They can expand all they want as long as they put in some PARKING.

It looks to me that the Board of Regents meeting where this issue was discussed happened to be held in Price this time.

If you read the article closely it doesn't say the U of U is in Price. It says the discussion of the U of U expansion was at the regents meeting at the College of Eastern Utah which happens to be in, you guessed it, Price. Reading comprehension is apparently a very difficult skill.

PRICE is where the Board of Regent's meeting was held on Friday. We all know the U is in SLC not Price.

"gee I always thought the University of Utah was in Salt Lake City, not Price."

The Board of Regents meets at locations throughout the state to allow residents equal opportunity to participate. At these meetings, the Board addresses issues from throughout the state. This meeting was at Price, the home of the College of Eastern Utah.

The Board of Regents meets on the various campuses of the system to approve issues like this. There was a lot more on the agenda at the meetings at the College of Eastern Utah than the update of the U of U master plan. New degree programs for various institutions in the system were on the agenda. Tuition rates and budgets for 2009-2010 year were on the agenda. The CEU master plan was also discussed. Two new regents were to be sworn in.

The concerned neighbors were not from Price, but drove to Price to express their concerns. The last such meeting in July was at SUU in Cedar City. Most Board of Regent meetings are in Salt Lake, but they do meet quite regularly on the campuses of various colleges.

Utah campus could use a little more "college town" atmosphere. More money will come from out of state if the campus lifestyle were more attractive. Also, building more apartments closer to campus may decrease traffic. I thought this expansion was a great idea and would get a lot of support from the city...

Props to the very astute reader who pointed out that the U of U is not in Price. What would we do without your critical powers of observation! You should avoid pointing out minor nonconsequential errors unless you have a little broader understanding of the situation.
