A Deal for Who? | 10:48 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Who is this a deal for? The citizens of Provo? No, now that over 60 million dollars has been squandered and they still carry all the debt and all the risk. A deal for Broadweave? Sure, they get everything but the risk. They can walk away at any moment. A deal for Billings? Sure, he has wasted millions of tax payer dollars and no citizens of Provo seem to care. A deal for Garlick? Yes, he destroys one of the best ideas to come along in years and he now gets to continue raking in 100,000 dollars a year screwing up the Energy Department. Its demise can't be far behind. A deal for the iProvo employees? No, while the Mayor and Garlick lied out of one side of their face telling them they would get a severance package, most just go the boot. A deal for the customers of iProvo? No, now the whole iProvo deal is so fractured it will not succeed. And Billings and Garlick ride off into the sunset laughing at each and every citizen who didn't care to raise their voice and demand that they be held accountable for terrible decisions that wasted millions. Shame!

Ditto. The citizens of Provo lose again with this administration. The worst part is the Council is happy to sit on their huanches and just let it happy. Why? Not because it is the right thing to do. But because it will get a hot topic off their plate. Regardless Council members it is still wrong - and worst of all you know it. Even worse, Billings and Garlick are still sitting in their offices raking in their paychecks having not had to be held for the responsibility of their irresponsible and terrible decisions. This I can't believe, will never understand, and will never accept. If they had one ounce of integrity they would have resigned. If the Council had one ounce of integrity they would DEMAND their resignations. It still is not too late. But, just as your original willingness to play Ostrich and stick your head in the desert sand over the iProvo deal we know you will spinelessly do it again and let these two move on to the next "project" continuing to promulgate their irresponsible decisions. Thank you for nothing. I now realize how wasted my votes have been!
