Congratulations to Coach O'Connor on landing a very good coaching job. Heaven knows he deserves it after all that he's been through. To me, his story is a prime example of what can happen if the inmates are allowed to run the asylum. An athletic team is not a democracy; the coach is the boss. That is the only way it works. Imagine how good the Lehi girl's team could have been had selfish pride not torn that team apart. Also, hats off to O'Connor for standing up for his rights and sending a message that disgruntled parents can't slander a coach with impunity.

At least the players will not have hard time remembering their new coach's name. Mike Conner, Mike O'Connor. Go Tiger's

Mike Conner was one of the state's best coaches. Sad to see him go.

O'Connor should be able to coach at all levels. He has been great for girls and boys. Great to see a man of integrity and talent back where he should be. Many great people in all of history have been ousted and abused by the few bad apples. It is nice to see this come full circle and have him back. The boys will be so good with him at the helm. Super past coach for OHS and now a Super present coach. Go OHS, Take State!

Lehi fans tell me how many state championships Lehi girls basketball won after the parents forced him out. That whole situation is what is wrong with high school the parents who are trying to live their dreams through their kids. I hope O'Conner has a very successful season and shows people what he is able to do when prideful parents don't get in the way. Oh yeah I haven't even heard of Lehi girls basketball since he left.
wow | 11:12 a.m. Aug. 28, 2008
I think he has been a coach for over 20 years and the only trouble was the Lehi people not the coach. Check your source of the problem. Pretty sure it wasn't him!!!!!

Orem will be happy that they gave O'Connor the opportunity to take the head coaching position. Lehi was great when he was coaching. He knows how to coach and has the experience to bring great things to Orem. Lehi had the biggest loss when they lost O'Connor. Since he left they became just a shadow in high school basketball. And for Orem, I'm sure it's a disappointing thing to lose a great coach, but just be greatful you have another great coach to fill in the position. I wish the best to O'Connor and it's an awesome thing to see him coming back to coach High School basketball.

Glad to see a class act like O'Connor back in the Orem area. As for arguing about the past, that was done to death long ago, and I'm sure both the outgoing and incoming coaches would like to see the Orem team be able to start fresh, looking forward. Good luck, Tigers!
