obviously lucky to get out of that one with a win... but a win is a win and the streak is still alive.

funny thing is the offense scored more this year than they did last year ( a touchdown last year was on a kick return)

and PG only drove on Timpview in the last drive while they were in prevent. the defense this year will be tough...

however, timpview is no where near the best team in state.. but they'll get better.

I am amazed on how much of a bad start timpview had. We got close to losing four times atleast. I never realized how good pleasant grove was, and that's at the beginning of the year too.
Timpview will get better though.... I hope. I don't want my senior year (this year) to be the one where provo high beats us...

Great game to both teams. Classic game. This one came down to one or two plays in the end. PG had 1st and goal from the 9 a few times and penalties/mistakes killed us. PG showed great heart at the end though. Going 80 yards in the final 1:30 to come up only 2 yards short. PG and Tview are easily the two best teams in the valley. A few corrections here and there and both of these teams will be dangerous come playoff time.

Way to step up defense! That was one that I feel we stole away, but at the same time earned it by stopping them like we did on defense in the red zone. That QB #12 was fast and threw it well. He kept them in the game as we stuffed the run. They were good on defense too, but thier QB was on his back a lot. That was a nailbiter and fun to watch. Props to PG also. Great game!

Welcome to 5A Timpview, PG isn't even one of our best teams. You'll probably take 4A, but you are not the best team in Utah till you play the best teams. PG isn't even a 5A top 5 team. No wonder you don't play any good teams in pre season. 24 is a good # if you play anyone.

and i agree, definitely timpview is not the best team in state this year, but PG will be one of the top teams this year in 5a IMO.

Maybe P.G. with its so-called strong kicking game should have tried a field goal or two when they had fourth down three times inside the 10.

Coach Sampson should have tried field goals at least 2 times. With 7 minutes left and a 4th and 13 against that defense? No brainer. Maybe the kicker isn't as good as they said he was. The Xtra point that got blocked was way too low. Also, Kudos to both defenses, they will be tough all season. Owens and Wilcox never got untracked on offense but Owens was a monster on defense. Wilcox not so much. PG should bounce back and win at least 7 games. Timpview, going undefeated may not be realistic this year. They were hardly dominant.

the kicker for pg didn't suit up because he has a hole in his calf from a motorcycle accident. the guy they wanted to use as his replacement, a soccer playing exchange student, couldn't play because he wasn't eligible yet. still no excuse. the coaches need to take partial blame for the loss for the terrible play calling down in the red zone. they ran the same play 3 times and got nothing each time. are you kidding me? i'm not taking anything away from timpview because they did what they had to when it came down to crunch time. great defensive play. it was pg's game to win and they gave it away. but i'm looking for good things from pg this year. great game, good luck to both teams.

PG's normal kicker is recovering from a injury sustained in a motorcycle crash but i hear he will be back to full strength soon

PG's kicker did suit up. I watched him warm up and he was doing alright from 25-35 yards but he didnt go farther than that. Hopefully the Leagues best kicker (Meza) is back to full strenth soon.

Great scramble by Loyd and throw across his body to Sampson for the go ahead TD....that would have won it!! We just didnt get the breaks we needed. If the other receiver lines up one step back instead of on the line of scrimmage, we win. If the last receiver doesnt go to a knee at the end on the last play, we win. But moreso, if we score in the Red Zone in the 4th quarter, we win (Timpview didnt get across midfield the second half)...but thats football. Would a Should a Could a. Props to Timpviews Defense. Props to PG's Defense. That was an exciting game! Timpview came at us all night and had us scrambling and they stopped Wilcox and Owens which is hard to do. Once we get the running game going, we will be great. We have an athletic QB, just need to give him time; the line and Offense will iron out the kinks and run blocking. Although not the outcome we wanted-PG will be great this year. I have followed PG for 20 years since I graduated from PG---this may be the best team since we took State. Good luck!

It's the BEGINNING of the season of course it's not going to be perfect. You 5A people are getting ridiculous for attacking Timpview all the time. I was really suprised reading the comments that it took awhile for a negative comment against Timpview to pop up...

But good game to both teams, they both played well. And good luck to PG's kicker, hope everything is okay.

i really think PG is pretty good. timpview didn't play great (turnovers) and are not as good as they were last year, but with that said, i think PG will win their conference and make a run in the playoffs.

Pleasant Grove is the only team that gives Timpview fits. Last year, the game was close like this as well. Watch out for the Vikings!

A few years ago Lone Peak shut out Timpview 10 - 0 at the beginning of the season and then the T-birds won state. This is just a fluke. TV will be back and stronger than ever.

has anyone been able to watch the game on comcast or parkcity tv? watching the game on the td that was called back i could have swore the wide receiver indicated he was off the line.

I don't know but I can see where the WR checked with the ref prior to getting set. So, I would have to agree with the WR at least communicating with the ref.

that was a good game wish it could of went r way. Lets get real about timp they will be almost as dominate as they were last year. BTW they were the best team in the state last year and would of beat up on alta. so we should be glad r team will get better and stay healthy. GO VIKINGS
