Women gymnasts restore U.S. glitter

I was so glad to see Shawn Johnson get the gold. She was awesome! And she really deserved it! Her hard work and determination paid off last night and it was a thrill to watch her!

When it comes down to using hair analysis or other genetic testing to determine an athletes honest age it's time to pack up the sports gear and go home. If the level of corruption and cheating begins when athletes are children there is no sport left in sports and we need to open our eyes and stop perpetuating a farce.

Talk about looking at the world through rose-colored glasses! Either that or exercising selective memory!

It wasn't all that long ago that even the gender of certain East German "female" athletes was in doubt. Perhaps Mr. Ginger needs to review the lengths that the East German government went to in its efforts to field medal-winning athletes; Heidi Krieger would be a good place to start.

I said the first day I saw the Chinese Gymnists that they were to young and then the famous trainer Bele Karolyi finally saying something about it....I don't know how they could do this? This is the Chinese. They supress there own people, don't allow the media freedom of speech, ETC. They would do this and the only way to catch them is to allow a hairdressing commitee to take pictures and hair samples so this "scamm" their putting on can never happen again. If they don't want to comply then they can never host the Olympica or participate, in this event.

What they do to their own people must be tolerated by them, but the World can't come and be treated with this disrespected. Some crafty media commentator could ask the one that really looks young, what year she was born? The commentator will probably get that old "deer in headlight" look. and they will retrieve her....

Can anyone tell me was there some kind of controversy with an American female gymnast being denied a medal, losing to a Chinese gymanst who made a mistake and landed on her knees during these Olympics? I caught a snippet on TV about some gymnast landing on her knees and what a horrible mistake it was in giving her a high score but I don't know who this was or what happened?

Was the American gymnast Alicia Sacramone somehow involved?

If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the correct story.

Yes, Alicia was denied a medal that she obviously should have won. One of the Chinese gymnasts (who all look like the skeletal remains of a 3rd grader) had obvious mistakes, including landing on her knees, but she still scored higher than Alicia.

No surprise, though. That type of thing has been standard for the Beijing Scam Olympics.

It does not surprise me that something like this, Alicia being denied medaling, in connection with a Chinese gymnist being awarded the a Medal, who like Anti-PC Infidel has explained. This only cements my position. I am sure glad we have the '96 Alanta Gymnastics to reminese about. Google Shannon Miller of Kerri Strug for some responsible judging and watch while Kerri puts her whole life into what she did. Glad to see there was some class in judging.......
