Talk about looking at the world through rose-colored glasses! Either that or exercising selective memory!
It wasn't all that long ago that even the gender of certain East German "female" athletes was in doubt. Perhaps Mr. Ginger needs to review the lengths that the East German government went to in its efforts to field medal-winning athletes; Heidi Krieger would be a good place to start.
What they do to their own people must be tolerated by them, but the World can't come and be treated with this disrespected. Some crafty media commentator could ask the one that really looks young, what year she was born? The commentator will probably get that old "deer in headlight" look. and they will retrieve her....
Was the American gymnast Alicia Sacramone somehow involved?
If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the correct story.
