Don't start thinking they have too many holes. still the most talented and best coached team in the state.

Maybe the best coached, but not necessarily the most talented, let's get that straight.

Best coached? What does that mean? Best head coach? Best staff? Hardest working? Best play-callers? Best recruiters? Many programs have smart head coaches, intelligent and dedicated assistants, work huge amounts of hours, and call brilliant games. So it must be the recruiting.

Get what straight?

Name one other program with 5 guys with D1 offers and another with a Southern Utah offer. Maybe Cottonwood has 4 or 5 guys, but the way they were dominated last year I would hardly state that are more talented.

Let's send the non-resident boys home and then talk about how great the coaches are.

D-1 offers does not mean you have the most talented kids. All that means is that coaches are doing their jobs and getting their kids names out there.
For every kid that gets a D-1 offer, there are 10 more just like him, that, either, because of grades, or just someone dropping the ball, they don't get the offer. So don't tell me that the more D-1 offers a school has, the better the program. The only thing that says about a program, is that they can get their kids looks.
And, the only reason Timpview wins championships, is:
1) They seem to have an open campus policy. I dare you to tell me that every kid on Timpview's program, lives in their boundaries.
2) The "Cougar" connection, i.e.: Anae, Kaufusi, etc..
3) Because of the "Cougar" connection, they have some excellent volunteer coaches.
But, I would say that Timpview's success is 99.9%, due to factor #1, as stated above. Timpview's campus is the entire Wasatch front, and even reaches over to Hawaii. With that size of campus, you're bound to have good teams.
Let's get that straight!

How does that not mean they have the most talented kids? It obviously means they do. Colleges dont just offer kids because their coach gets their name out there. Timpview has the most talent by far.

Yes, it is true we have many from our high school 20 minutes away that drive to Timpview to play football. There are a lot of people that move there for there football program. I know two people on their team now that moved there for that reason.

totally agree
excuses | 5:34 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
people like holes can make up as many excuses as they want. But when the end of the season comes around and timpviews putting on their fourth state championship ring in the past five years its not gonna matter. I hear they actually are gonna order their rings right now so when they win the championship game they can just put them on right there and not have to wait.

re: excuses

Order those rings, but know this, Timpview is the Skyline of the 2000's. You couldn't win championships with the kids in your own boundaries, so you gotta pillage other schools, to accomplish your goals.
Let me say this, I do not wish Timpview any ill will! I wish you the best! But at least acknowledge the facts, and the truth about your open door policy!
Sure Timpview wins championships, but, when you pull from all over the wasatch front, you should win championships. Skyline did it in the past, and Timpview is doing it now!
Oh and, I still maintain, that D-1 offers, are not, something you gauge the success of a program by.
Oh and BTW, I hope you win the championship now, after that ordering rings comment, because if you don't, you'll be eating your words.
You may be Timpview, but teams aren't just goona roll over for you! You have the target on your back!

I love how everyone bags on Timpview "recruiting"
If the program wasnt so good to begin with, why would kids want to go there in the first place?
Obviously the COACHES are doing something right.

There was a large group of pg kids at byu's junior day.. they're getting exposure.

but guess what, none of them have been offered by anyone, including byu.

so say what you want about the kids who have EARNED division 1 scholarships at Timpview. In the end they'll be the ones playing college football while the PG boys will be at home..

the livelihood and job status of college coaches is based primarily on recruiting.. trust me, they are going to get the most talented kids out there and if a kid has talent they would find them even if they were playing at programs like pleasant grove.

ok i agree that colleges will look at anyone if they are good but i do have to disagree with the type of schools. PG's has not had a state championship in a long time, but Timpview has. In recruiting coaches will look at everyone but its the team that get the Most Attention that recruiters look at FIRST. Take that in to concideration!

First, a good program, or the better program has coaches who don't drop the ball with helping talented kids get into college and has programs set up to help kids struggling in school so they don't get bad grades thus making their program better. Its funny to me that you would argue that it doesn't.

Yet, take to consideration, PG kids still get looked at. Maybe when they get their chance, they flat out don't shine. Maybe they shouldn't get any attention at all :) Except for my boy Lesean. Sorry PG fan. See you under the lights friday. Timpview comin at ya
