I can remember when Highland was a place where guys like me from AF used to go there to park with our girl friend. Even had the local county sherrif roust us out once.

Now Highland holds meetings about cutting energy, etc. Boy, how the world changes.

Maybe not for the good............

Everyone else is doing it, so that makes it right, right? I love the logical fallacy for a four-day work week: to save energy. The truth is that everyone would like a three-day weekend. The idea of a "vacation" every weekend is pretty appealing. Of course they'll vote to have a four-day work week. Admittedly generally speaking, but nonetheless generally true, the government stopped working for the people when the people stopped caring about the work they were getting. Since government employees are working for themselves for the most part, a three-day weekend sounds great. My main objection is that the nomenclature is all wrong in the politically correct world we live in: The truth is that the Highland city council is contemplating voting on a three-day weekend. That's what Governor Huntsman did and look how popular he is!

How can Highland City indiscriminately put forth a vote on this issue when it has not performed any due diligence therefor? At a minimum, a cost-benefit analysis should be performed to support the facade that they are trying to conserve energy. In any event, Highland citizens, who now experience poor, condescending customer service will only suffer as a result of the city's desire to have three-day weekends.

If they do adopt a four-day work week, I would hope that an auditor will work on Fridays to understand where all the impact fees that were supposed to be used to build parks have gone!
