Bad city management is not cause to raise taxes. Why are taxpayers always the ones to get punished for bad city government? Taxation is being used to offset recession and depression and both are regressive taxes that should be the fault of management, not the tax payers. This hind sight government is not supposed to be happening and the constituion put controls on government for a reason, to avoid tea parties. The party is over for government and its time they took notice and start to become responsible and accountable. Taxation is supporting the socialist government taking over the country. Cut government indemnification (socialism) and cut taxes.

You know, when looking for a home in 2003 there were a lot of red flags for me about Saratoga and Eagle Mt. Traffic was a concern, the unusual homeowners fee was worrisome, but worst of all was that they were new communities with large start up costs. So I paid a little more for a home in Lehi. Now my costs are under control. My property tax valuation actually went down $10k this year. By buying in Saratoga residents essentially said they were aware of the risks of higher costs and they they accepted that risk wholly. Get over the need to fund your city and either foot the bill or move.

Property taxes will be something like $200 on a $200,000 home? And they are crying? Try Dallas suburbs--$3000 on a $135,000 home. Or AZ--$1800 on a $200,000 one. Or Omaha--$3500.
If people want community services, they should be willing to pay for them! I'd be thrilled with a $200 property tax bill.

People, the 207.00 tax rate is just "PART" of the overall property tax. The city tax is just a small slice of the total property tax that must be paid. Remember that there is the school district, water district, sanitation, etc...you all need to take a closer look at the itemized list in your property tax notice. Gimme a break...no wonder our politicians have such a long leash.
