another Obama concert tour? | 6:40 a.m. July 24, 2008
ARE Utahns really THAT naive about politics?. I think so. DID YOU KNOW - It's now less than four months until Election Day 2008, and the Democrats and their leftist allies are unleashing their full arsenal of smear-and-fear tactics against John McCain and our Republican candidates. With the help of Big Labor, radical groups like MoveOn.org, and George Soros and other left-wing billionaires, the Democrats have over a billion dollars to blanket America's airwaves with partisan, misleading attacks. This is all on top of the fawning, one-sided coverage Barack Hussein Obamaism and Democrat candidates receive from the mainstream media. If our candidates are to achieve victory this November, they must get their message of commonsense conservatism and principled leadership past the media filter and directly to the voters who will decide our nation's future course. We can't afford to let our opponents' media hype and pie-in-the-sky promises drown out our message of principled conservative government.
R U naive about politics? | 6:42 a.m. July 24, 2008
Just who is George Soros?, he uses the wealth he amassed as a financier to support liberal U.S. political candidates and pro-democracy movements worldwide. After brokerage work in London and New York, he started in 1969 what became the Quantum Fund, one of the world's first hedge funds. It eventually paid 4,000-fold on initial investments and made Soros a billionaire. His knack for seeing trends and acting on them with gutsy marketplace gambits sometimes caused controversy. He was called the man who broke the Bank of England for the role his currency trades played in the 1992 Black Wednesday crash of the British pound; in 2002 he was convicted of insider trading in France. He turned philanthropist in the 1970s through what is now an international network of foundations under the umbrella of the Open Society Institute. His first foray into U.S. presidential politics came in 2004, when he threw millions of personal dollars behind efforts to unseat George W. Bush. In 2007 he declared support for candidate Barack Hussein Obama.
The Real Obama | 8:00 a.m. July 24, 2008
Would the real Obama please stand up? First he dons Muslim garb, then he professes to be totally a Christian, now he puts on a skullcap to pray like a Jew at the Wall. What's next, Buddist Monk robes when he tours Asia or maybe shave his head and beat a drum with the Hare Krishna's the next time he goes through the airport? What a phony showman!!

"their message of commonsense conservatism and principled leadership"? I can't recall Bush and the Republicans in congress displaying conservative, principled leadership, even when Republicans held the House, Senate, and White House a few years back.

Government spending is uncontrolled, as well as government growth. Republican leaders missed their opportunity to show America true Republican values when they held the White House, Senate and House. Instead, they acted like democrats and tried to outspend everyone. National debt is to an obscene level. Our economy is still tanking, and the war was poorly managed for years until some leadership changes occurred in the DOD. Private contractors reaped billions of dollars in Iraq--private companies carrying out war???? Huge conflict of interest, policy, etc.

I regret my vote for Bush. I am sorely disappointed with Republicans, including Hatch and Bennet. I am very hesitant to offer anymore to support to Republicans until I see them returning to true conservative principles and putting forth a true conservative leader. John McCain is hardly the conservative leader America needs. Many people have decided to vote for him simply because the only other viable option is Obama.

What to do?
Re: The Real Obama | 8:34 a.m. July 24, 2008
"A phony showman"? Aren't all politicians today the same. I can hardly tell a Republican from a Democrat, except for social issues. The Christian right political power has taken over the Republican party at the expense of a more balanced approach to government: fiscal and environmental conservatism have played a back seat to the social aspects of conservatism. All conservative values are needed, not just those close to the religious right!

On the issues of environmental policy, since when is the democratic party the only ones wanting clean air and water. Liberals have thus far won the PR war painting Republicans as foes to the environment. Of course we want clean air and water. Everyone does! Republicans simply try to achieve a clean environment without sacrificing our economy and power as a nation. Republicans are hurt on the environmental issues because current Republican leaders are putting the interests of business far ahead of a clean environment. Americans want true leadership!
LETS TELL THE TRUTH HERE | 9:32 a.m. July 24, 2008
SO - BIG - DEAL?, Obamaism paid (at the expence of the American tax payer's don't forget, on his NEW concert-tour) a predawn visit, to the holiest place in Judaism at the Western Wall, bowing his head in prayer?.While big Labor, radical groups like MoveOn.org, and George Soros hype and pie-in-the-sky promises and other left-wing billionaires plus the media filter blanket candidate Barack Hussein Obama, sacrificing our economy at the alter, this is a better non-liberal story than John Edwards and the Breck Girl Affair, having an affair, caught red-handed with the babe and his love child at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles. He tried to get out of the hotel at 2:40 a.m. they saw him, and he ducked into a bathroom in a basement. He had gone in a side entrance to avoid the lobby going in the hotel and coming out. They know the room numbers. The National Enquirer. Why does the drive by news media cover this up for the trip to Judaism. Utahns are sure naive about politics hey?.

Americans want true leadership! - THAT'S WHY 98% of America will vote for McCain and Mitt at the polls this November - count on it - their in.

:-)

Live with it.

Obama and the obligatory sucking up to the Zionists at the wailing wall. Hey Obama! Over her! How about giving us real American voters that will vote for you in November a reason to put you in the White House. Oh, the foreign interests bought you too? Sorry, thought this nation was Sovereign.
Anonymous | 12:00 p.m. July 24, 2008
Barack Hussein Obama, sacrificing our economy at the alter.

Barack Hussein Obama, sacrificing our economy at the alter.

Barack Hussein Obama, sacrificing our economy at the alter. "GREAT CONCERT TOUR"?.
ALL bowdown to the great Obama | 12:18 p.m. July 24, 2008
The Ignorance and Arrogance of the Lord Messiah Barack Obama. The Messiah exhibiting some unknown insecurity here, previously unknown. He wants all the reporters to like him. Now, if he wants all the reporters to like him, he must think that some of them don't. And how in the world could he get that impression? How in the world could Obama think they don't not just like him, but love him? How could he get that impression? They worship Obama! They are disciples. He wants them to like him.
McCain and Mitt | 12:25 p.m. July 24, 2008
I am not excited about either candidate this cycle. But if McCain selected Mitt Romney as his running mate...then I would be excited to vote for McCain. But this is not going to happen. It won't happen. Mitt is out, and better for him. I don't think he would want to be associated with a McCain administration that must work with a democratic congress to solve social security, medicaid/care, prescription drug benefits to seniors, the economic crunch (we still aren't calling it a recession yet, are we?), and two wars (Iraq and Afganistan), along with the energy crisis and myriad other problems. It will be easier for Mitt to run in 4 years after the democrats have really messed things up. Then he can come to office and work his magic.

It was be hard. You paced your money on a old broken down plow horse to win and the camera is taking the horse most likely to cross the finish line first.

I don't see President Obama as one to hold grudges. He will provide Utah and the nation with leadership not seen in seven years.
Tom Paine | 1:26 p.m. July 24, 2008
Obama looked very presidential in his speech today, very statesmanlike, and connected with our German allies, 200,000 of whom attended. A sharp contrast to George Bush who struggles with the English language, and John McCain who apparently has no knowledge of the Middle East or Europe, and has a hard time filling a 200 seat town hall meeting unless he gives out tickets to supporters.
Paul | 2:24 p.m. July 24, 2008
What right does Obama have to be over in Germany Israel, Iraq, ect? He isn't officially the Democratic nominee. He is acting Presidential but he is just Mr. Joe Blow( and I mean Blowing in the wind) Citizen. The way his speech sounded today, and the News Media talks about him, you would think he was running for the head office in Germany or the people in Germany has a right to elect our President. Let the Germans have him.
Sokol | 2:25 p.m. July 24, 2008
Let's not be cruel in our assessment, he deserves
a chance. Look at what the Republicans have done
to this country over 8 years, in terms of response
to Katrina, the American dollar, the protection of
rights, and the economy.
If it were up to me, we would have a strong third
party, with Jessie Ventura as its nominee.

"ich bin ein beginner" - Obama in Germany

"What right does Obama have to be over in Germany Israel, Iraq, ect? "

When Obama is president the relationships he's now forging, with be important to us.

Conservatives have dogged our next president, saying he as no experience in International relations. Obama, being the visionary leader he is, wanted you show how well he came across outside the United States.

Maybe, Obama could pick Reid for VP? This would prove it's Mitt not religion that's the real problem.
Steve - Re: Another ObamaConcert | 3:53 p.m. July 24, 2008
"John McCain and OUR Republican candidates"? "Our"? You do realize that Utah isn't 100% Republican don't you, that there are people of other parties living here? I'm guessing either you don't or you choose to pretend they don't exist.

You speak of misleading attacks by liberals. Well what about McCains? Recently as part of his attacks on Obama's overseas visit he picked on Obama for finally meeting with General what's his name, for having never bothered to meet him before... but that's a lie as the two men met not long ago at some meeting here in the U.S.
Steve - Re: Anonymous | 4:05 p.m. July 24, 2008
98% of America is going to vote for McCain huh? You're dreaming. First of all, despite the huge interest in this campaign, we aren't going to see that many Americans voting period... let alone for any one specific candidate.

I predict we'll have another very close election, but it isn't going to be in favor of McCain... America wants to distance themselves from Bush as much as possible and a great number of people see McCain as "Bush Jr.". I say, count on Obama winning and get used to saying "President Obama" for the next 4 to 8 years (whether you like it or not).

Just this week (today?) Obama (on foreign soil at that) draws 200,000 people to hear him speak... McCain only 400. Similar to not long ago when Obama was in Oregon and drew 75,000 but McCain only 200.

Sure looks to me like people are backing up behind Obama, not McCain. So don't count on your easy McCain victory.
?? | 4:13 p.m. July 24, 2008
"Obama said he was speaking as a citizen, not as a president, but the evening was awash in politics as the first-term U.S. senator sought to burnish his international credentials for the fall campaign at home. His remarks before a crowd estimated at more than 200,000 inevitably invited comparison to historic speeches in the same city by Presidents Kennedy and Reagan."
Re: Paul | 4:15 p.m. July 24, 2008
The last time I checked, it was the right of every law abiding American citizen to travel to whatever country they wish as long as they have a valid passport and the country of destination allows them in. I know Republicans would like to restrict the travel of Democrats, or anyone else who disagrees with them. However, even though Bush has tried to destroy it, the constitution still stands.
is there media bias here to? | 4:55 p.m. July 24, 2008
A new Rasmussen poll finds 49% of voters believe most reporters will try to help Obama with their coverage. Only 14% believe most reporters will try to help John McCain win, little changed from 13% a month ago. Just one voter in four (24%) believes that most reporters will try to offer unbiased coverage. There is of course a partisan divide: A plurality of Democrats 37% say most reporters try to offer unbiased coverage of the campaign. Twenty-seven percent (27%) believe most reporters are trying to help Obama and 21% in Obama’s party think reporters are trying to help McCain. Among Republicans, 78% believe reporters are trying to help Obama and 10% see most offering unbiased coverage. As for unaffiliated voters, 50% see a pro-Obama bias and 21% see unbiased coverage. Just 12% of those not affiliated with either major party believe the reporters are trying to help McCain. When Senator McCain traveled to Europe and the Middle East after clinching the Republican nomination, he got scant media coverage. Compare that to the orgy of media coverage for Obama's trip.

VOTE FOR McCain and Mitt in 2008

Re: Another Obama concert tour? | 8:27 a.m.: "I regret my vote for Bush. I am sorely disappointed with Republicans, including Hatch and Bennett."

Then, what you need to do is vote for Democrats... those who refuse to drill for oil off shore... (where the Chinese are seeking to drill). And they refuse to authorize use of tar sands, shale oil, and coal of which we have an aboundance.

What they seem to be counting on is putting a big wind generator in their House and Senate chambers to turn all the hot into power.

Re: Paul | 4:15 p.m.: "The last time I checked, it was the right of every law abiding American citizen to travel to whatever country they wish..."

Yes, but at who's expense? If B. Hussein Obama wants to take a trip around the world he should pay for it... or his Illinois constituents.
Vote for McCain and Mitt ok | 5:22 p.m. July 24, 2008
Obama was channeling Ronald Reagan today. Well, we knew Ronald Reagan, Senator Obama, and you're not in his league.
did U hear this on the news? | 5:25 p.m. July 24, 2008
Were you able to hear that? Protestor shouting, Jerusalem is not for sale, Obama, Jerusalem is our land, Jerusalem is our land. CBS also has a story about poor old Barry, he just can't get past the fact that his middle name's Hussein and it makes people over here in Israel a little uncomfortable. And they hold up a copy of anyway, Sheila MacVicar is the info babe that did that story. But there was a lot more ruckus than just this one guy is the point, and they got out of there pretty quickly. There was some resentment here that the whole event had been turned into a campaign appearance. But there was a lot more ruckus than the Drive By Media are reporting.
Well guess what folk's? | 5:29 p.m. July 24, 2008
Fox News just announced their latest poll results from Opinion Dynamics. That's the bunch that does polling for Fox. It's Obama 41, McCain 40. That's in July. What was it in June, 45-40, something like that? That's margin of error or something. In the NBC Wall Street Journal Poll, it's Obama 47-41 - six points is a gaffe!

VOTE 4 McCain in 2008
Obama's tour of war time duty | 5:31 p.m. July 24, 2008
Why has Obama cancelled appearances at two military bases, one military hospital and another military base even though he has extended his stay in Germany by two hours tomorrow. Of course, it's about 9:00. What is it, seven hours ahead? It's about 9:20 over there now. I guess Obama was scheduled to go visit some wounded soldiers. He's cancelled that and another trip to another military installation but he did find time to work in a workout at the Ritz-Carlton hotel. Now, that's fine. I mean, I'm not surprised. Why go see the wounded soldiers? Except when you're a Democrat, and except when Lester Holt at NBC is describing Obama's trip to Afghanistan and Iraq as his tour of duty. Remember?
Arnold's at the crying wall to | 5:33 p.m. July 24, 2008
President Bush, McCain and 99% of the other's are good, here's the bad one folks. More on the minimum wage, ladies and gentlemen. "Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger plans next week to slash the pay of more than 200,000 state workers to the federal minimum wage, not the state minimum wage, the federal minimum wage, of $6.55 an hour in order to help ease the state's budget crisis. This is according to a draft executive order obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle. It's a huge budget fight out there in California and this is the development. More than 200,000 California state workers are to get the minimum wage to ease the budget crisis." The state minimum wage is 8 bucks. They are not going to get that. They are going to get the federal minimum wage of $6.55. BLAME HIM not the other's. HE DID IT.
Well Mr. Know-It-All Obama | 6:41 p.m. July 24, 2008
No matter what the ordinary citizens of this country do, Al Gore and Barack Obama are still going to travel in private jets, using more fuel and leaving a bigger carbon footprint in one day than most families will leave in a year. And apparently, Obama doesn't think high gas prices are a bad thing. His only concern was that we got to $4 a gallon much quicker than the "gradual increase" he would have preferred. Maybe he thinks we would have accepted the increase willingly had it taken longer. Kind of like a frog that will jump out of a boiling pot of water, but will stay and get cooked if the water slowly rises to a boil. I'm literally sick of the, do as I say, not as I do, attitude of these elitist snobs. In essence, they want us to make up for the pollution they pour into the air from their Lear Jets and Gulfstreams. They want us to peddle bicycles around while they ride in limousines. They want us to pick up the carbon tab for their excessive living and we're supposed to accept it without a whimper.

Vote 4 McCain
Go Obama! | 10:51 p.m. July 24, 2008
I just listened to Obama's Germany speech, and I thought it was GREAT! So did the German people. It's so refreshing to have the rest of the world on our side once again. Maybe we need a "rock star" candidate to undo all the damage caused by the past seven years of George W. Bush. Won't it be wonderful to be able to travel in Europe without hiding because we're Americans?
Lewt | 11:16 p.m. July 24, 2008
Boy, I just wonder - Do you think there might be any "excessive living" by people who get their CEO checks in the PRIVATE sector? Think that's possible? Come to think of it, doesn't McCain own about a dozen houses, and doesn't he actually owe taxes on some of them? Why should we vote for a guy like that? After all, it's beer that made it all possible, not holy water.
