Why would anyone think that McCain or Obama would be less supportive of transportation funding or comprehensive immigration reform than Bush has been? Washington is obviously going to be a much more reliable partner for the states next year.

I like what this report has to say. I think an efficient mass transit system along the wasatch front (with good connectors to neighboring cities) would be a great way to decrease our dependancy on foreign oil and would set an example for other cities. That along with alternative vehicle fuels, improved solar power technology, and increased use of wind-generated power.
No matter what we do, we definitely need to decrease our reliance on gasoline.
