Why did they take Guzan as one of their over players? Why not a midfielder or someone else. This will not help Seitz at all.

McBride will definitely be a father figure over there. Isnt he old enough to be some of those kids' father?

Good luck USA!

Sturgis gets healthy just in time for him to get injured at the Olympics.

Send the whole team to China and let them stay there!

Nowak and crew CLEARLY aren't interested in winning a medal in the Olympics. No Donovan? Guzan? If you are going to choose an over-age keeper, why Guzan? The U.S. has at least 2 Keepers better than Guzan. No Onyewu? Instead they take McBride who's like 70 years old, an ok Keeper (which they didn't need), and Parkhurst? Parkhurst? Are you kidding me? Michael Parkhurst???

What country is Nowak from?

Hey Bi Polar- McBride was still one of the leading scorers on his Premier League team despite missing most of the year with injury, and was voted by fellow players the MVP on his own team the two years before that. He is still a force and a great selection.

Donovan declined to go so he can concentrate on league and world cup qualifying (much more important). And his team would have to release him, which they wouldn't.

Guzan is one of the better keepers available, but this is all about getting him to England I would guess (work permit). Other keepers wouldn't be released by their teams.

Parkhurst is one of the most underrated defenders in the league. His positioning is impeccable, and he doesn't make dumb fouls- you want a smart, cool middle back and that's what he is. Not a sexy pick but a good one.

And you don't just get your pick of the litter for the Olympics. Players over 23 have to be released by their team according to FIFA rules, and they rarely if ever are.

Information is the key to commenting. Remember that.

Great he gets called up for the Olympics so then he can get injured again and ride the pine for the rest of the season. I wonder what RSL will look like with him being healthy. Oh well, RSL is playing fine without him.
GO RSL!!!!

Mattc,

ALMOST Being a leading scorer on a team that was inches away from being relegated is not something to brag about. Dont get on bipoler for his opinion, sounds like he is informed to me, just disappointed. I think any american would want donovan over Mcbride right now. I do think McBride is a great player though, don't get me wrong. Just the wrong choice for this team. Im just personally glad they didn't take Findley, we need him.

Sturgis will hardly play at all. He'll be getting world class training and world class treatment. Good for him.

McBride was hurt half the year. His strike rate was pretty strong in the games he did play. This is also a big reason why Fulham were in trouble to begin with.

He's not that far removed from having been in the top 10 in the league in scoring.

US Soccer refused to reschedule a World Cup Qualifier that lands right in the middle of the Olympics so players from the Senior Mens National Team weren't available for the Olympic team. Either way RSL is well represented and the Olympic team will make it out of its group and contend for a medal.
