No changes?? We have already been informed that they will no longer have indoor soccer, even though it was the most used part of the oval.

Why are they taking soccer away from the oval. They are making plenty of money from soccer. Do they really need both the hockey areas for hockey??? There usually isn't even a hocky game going on.

Quit playing hockey | 1:40 p.m. July 12, 2008
I think right after the Olympics ended there was a huge influx of new hockey players. It has died down quite a bit since then. Now one rink is probably enough. It was when I played there.

I quit playing about 2 years ago after several friends also quit. It was not fun playing with high school puck hogs. And the teams were way stacked. Some ever having former NHLers or AHLers on roster. What a joke.

I just wanted an old-timers no check league full of weekend wannabees to play against. But there is not enough hockey players in the Salt Lake valley to specialize leagues in this way.

Besides soccer doesn't belong inside the Oval. Its an ice rink. Use it as such. There are fields just outside the rink for soccer. Play it there.

The reason why the Oval is losing so much money is because it is being under-utilized and mismanaged. Since 2002 there has been no real effort on the part of the UAF to turn it into a major center for ice sports development. Now they want to pass on the responsibility to the people of Kearns? What happened to all those fine words about the Olympic legacy being "for the children" of Utah? The UAF has done very little in the past 6 years to develop winter sports opportunities for local Salt Lake City athletes, and believe me, they do not have a plan for the future of the Utah Olympic Oval.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
