Apparently you get censored for bring up the difference between the USS Cole and the USS Liberty. One was attacked by the nation of Israel and the other Terrorist. One by Arabs, the other by a nation we gave billions in aid to, only to have them spy on us and sell out military technology to China. One is a nation of chosen people and the other children of a lessor god.

Perhaps we should use bushlogic. Attack Burkina Faso, or the pacific trust territories, or estonia.

"Just as the Pentagon needs to seek justice on behalf of the victims of the Cole bombing, they also should conduct a tribunal that is just. This is an important opportunity for the United States to demonstrate that due process and justice are core values."

How can the tribunal be just after you have tortured the defendant? The Bush administration has demonstrated that torture and deception are its core values.

Cenorship, where and when did Israel sell our military technology to China? I've got to see chapter and verse on this one.

Yeah I remember when that happened. Right after the 2nd intifada started. That was back when Israelis were killing 12 year old palestinians on national television, firing into crowds of protesters, and bombing entire neighborhoods with american weapons.

I don't recall feeling very surprised.

Justice must be served! While I do not condone torture, I do not condone terrorism and murder of US citizens by foreign 'gangsters' either. Terrorists do not come at their enemies as soldiers, but against the innocent and unsupecting as well as those in the military. If foreign nationals decide to commit acts of terror against the United States they do not deserve all the rights of US citizens under the Constitution. 'Mercy can not rob justice' is a basic tennant of many religions not just Christianity. In fact in the muslim world what do think happens to you if commit a terroist act? Is there any mercy? Is there much 'due process' as we have in the USA? Now the United States of America has been a beacon to the world for freedom, individual rights and justice. We have become the largest target of terrorists in part because of that. When we discover those who have committed terror acts and killed Americans we must insist on justice. To ask for less would destroy both freedom and individual rights.
God Bless America! We really need His blessing at this disturbing time.

I read alot of animosity toward Israel on this blog.
personally, I wouldn't blame Israel for destroying all of Gaza. Daily we hear about bombs going off in public places around Israel and when they retaliate, they are the ones lambasted by the touchy feely types.
Enough allready! Israel, like the USA, has a right to defend itself.

I have a hard time getting as worked up about the Cole victims as I do other, civilian victims of violence. The Cole victims were warriors, on a warship (a "destroyer" no less), projecting American power into foreign waters. You take your chances when you sign up for that job. I'm proud of them as American heroes who died for me, and I will be happy if their killers are caught and punished, but I do not cry for justice for them as I would, say, the little 7-year-old girl so recently killed here in SLC.

Do those of you who are hostile towards the Cole victims feel the same way about your police force. If they get shot and killed while on duty, is that just part of the job, something that they should expect, sometime that they deserve for having the gall of trying to sustain law and order?
Israel - not our frined! | 5:30 p.m. July 9, 2008
What about the brutal attack on the USS Liberty? Israel firsters like to sweep this under the rug! But the survivors of this cowardly attack, the family members of the 34 killed sailors and Admiral Thomas Moorer have not forgotten! If Israel has the right to defend themselves against attacks, we shouldn't meddle in their affairs and quit sending billions of foreign aid year after year to them, while this country is broke. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson have warned us to keep out of foreign entanglements. If Americans had heeded this warning, we would not be in such a mess as we are today. Unfortunately, AIPAC and the ADL will see to it that the money rolls in.

Now the liberals have become pro-Arab spokesmen.

It wasn't enough to have the liberals defend Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf Oil Cartel as they castigate American Service Men and Women. It wasn't enough to have the liberals pretend that every Democrat that spoke about WMD in Iraq was hoodwinked by the overpowering eloquence of President Bush.

Now they want to rewrite history about the USS Liberty.

Why not demand that the government release all records of that incident. It happened on the watch of President Johnson (D).

During a time of war when Israel was surrounded on every side by odds greater than any other nation on earth had ever fought against, the USS Liberty was broadcasting war intelligence. Not only was the USS Liberty broadcasting war intelligence, but it was bouncing those signals off the moon so that anyone, including Israel's enemies could intercept those messages and that information them against Israel.

Everyone who has ever studied war knows that the Israeli victory in the 6-Day War was the greatest victory every recorded in any war at any time since the dawn of history.

And the USS Liberty almost cost the Nation of Israel its very life.

Please excuse my poor grammar. I'm still seeing red after reading the mis-information about the USS Liberty.

The more grammatically correct sentence should be:

"Not only was the USS Liberty broadcasting war intelligence, but it was bouncing those signals off the moon so that anyone, including Israel's enemies could intercept those messages and use that information against Israel."

And,

"the 6-Day War was the greatest victory ever recorded".

I was an Air Force ROTC student at BYU the semester following that 6-Day war. We studied every aspect of the war and compared it to many other wars throughout history.

I suggest that the anti-Israeli liberals do the same, especially since the policies of the Democrat hopeful will leave America defenseless when we are surrounded by our enemies.
