How tall was the guy?
If he got clipped by a semi-truck mirror wouldn't he have to be really tall?
If he got clipped by the convex mirror (attached closer to the ground) found on the hood of some newer trucks, the impact would have removed the mirror and assembly the driver/mechanic would have noticed...
